Possible new source for Organization X
[edit]I believe that the following link would describe a book that might be useful as a source for Organization X. The book in question is "THESIS (June 1941 - December 1944)" by Fanis Hamodrakas. The book and the website describing it are in Greek, though. https://www.hellasbooks.gr/%CE%B8%CE%B7%CF%83%CE%B5%CE%B9%CE%BF--%CE%B9%CE%BF%CF%8D%CE%BD%CE%B9%CE%BF%CF%82-1941-%CE%B4%CE%B5%CE%BA%CE%AD%CE%BC%CE%B2%CF%81%CE%B9%CE%BF%CF%82-1944--p-1157.html Hu753 (talk) 22:27, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Good morning, I agree the source is good the issue however aren't the sources on the Greek wiki, it's the user who if you see the talk page of Organisation X, he's been reverting edits for one year now, he has a clear POV issue as well and it's obvious in the way he talks but since nobody has reported him or at least no action has been taken, not much you can do about it other than end up entangled in an edit war. That's why on the talk page I've brought the sources so that there can be a consensus vote. ShovelandSpade (talk) 06:09, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- I would not be surprised if someone decides to accuse at least one of us of whitewashing and supporting Nazism over wanting to acquit a historical organisation of collaborating with the Axis powers and use that accusation to threaten, intimidate and/or get us permanently banned and/or blocked from editing Wikipedia. By the way, I looked up Leonidas F. Leonidou, the author who is accused of writing hagiographies and I discovered that the author is an academic historian.
- Thus, the accusation of WP:UNDUE would not go far without risking the sources that claim collaboration with the Axis powers being accused of writing hatchet jobs. By the way, WP:BIASED, WP:ALLOWEDBIAS and WP:SNPOV should also be read in order to help one's case. Hu753 (talk) 09:08, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- I already mentioned this to him, he doesnt care, he does what he wants, I believe its time we report him as nobody has actually done that yet. Its not just about aquital, its historically inaccurate to claim X collaborated with the nazis, at best, X pulled off an Operation Paperclip, the only issue is, I cant be the only one going up against him otherwise its my word against his, as to Leonidas, I know, his books have also been presented by ambassadors and high comissioners let alone anything else but as I said, he does it because nobody reports him. ShovelandSpade (talk) 13:09, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- The idea that Organisation X collaborated with the Axis powers has found widespread support among the Greek Wikipedia community and to some extent, the English Wikipedia community. Thus, there is a real risk that reporting the user would result in a WP:BOOMERANG. The user has reported an edit war concerning the Greek pages of "Organization X" and "List of Greek resistance organizations during the Occupation" on the Greek Wikipedia Administrators' noticeboard without specifying the user/s involved. Hu753 (talk) 23:58, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- As to your first claim that is true due tp the polarization in Greece, hes clearly got a POV issue as he refuses to even add that its disputed, relying on it being a good article and someone writing a paper, disregarding most of wikipedias other rules on this subject. ShovelandSpade (talk) 13:41, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Cypriot National Guard, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Alex2006 (talk) 12:31, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- I gave a valid reason. ShovelandSpade (talk) 13:35, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Where? I did not see it, also in the history of the article. The Republic of Cyprus has two official languages, and BTW, you are supporting the POV of Turkey, that pretends that the Republic of Cyprus represents only the Greek part of the island. Anyway, if you think that there is a valid reason to remove the turkish name, please bring it to the talk page of the article, and discuss it. Examining the history of the article, it looks like you are engaged in a low intensity edit war with other users about this issue. Alex2006 (talk) 14:04, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- What are you on about... ShovelandSpade (talk) 14:52, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- And please dont make unbased accusations against me again and implying alterior motives, I think ive clearly explained why its been removed in the talk page, any other questions feel free to look it up further. ShovelandSpade (talk) 15:20, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
