Hi REVUpminster, can you get a title image for E4 show The Aliens? And if you can, can you add episode list (suitable table colour would be #EEB421, or similar, which matches text colour in title card). Appreciate it, thanks. --Emperorofthedaleks (talk) 18:56, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Rob Mche Sunny behind the scenes.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rob Mche Sunny behind the scenes.JPG. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 21:34, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Crooked House (film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Channel 5 (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi, REVUpminster, I hope you are well. I have come to your talk page as I noticed you were involved in a discussion on the article's talk page a while ago regarding episode titles (which can be found here). I am currently aiming to improve the List of Death in Paradise episodes article (the started improved article can be found in my Sandbox) and I was wondering what I should do with regards to the situation of episode titles. Netflix apparently use episode titles, however the BBC do not, and no episode title actually appears on-screen per episode, so should the titles just be "Episode 1", "Episode 2" etc. for each series, or should the article be using the episode titles which Netflix use? Thanks in advance. ElectrodeandtheAnode (talk) 18:39, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure what you are trying to improve but as for titles The BBC and IMdb do not use them but Epguides does. Whatever you decide you can bet it will lead to an edit war. REVUpminster (talk) 21:25, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am trying to improve the overall quality of the article (maybe even put it up for FLC if I am capable of it and feel it is worthy of it). The lead was not the most informative, and overall the article could do with a clean-up, as well as the summaries being written in own words, rather than being taken from the BBC. I am fully aware that regardless of what happens the result will be an edit war, most probably from IP users, which is why I came to you, to see what you, a Wikipedian, thought. I will probably use episode titles and make a note at the top of the Episodes section, stating that Netflix use episode titles, but the BBC do not. Thank you regardless. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Despacito performed by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.JPG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Despacito performed by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. xplicit 02:10, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 19:59, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Department S (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Randall

[edit]
Left:White Vauxhall Victor. Right:Red Mini

Cars used by the main characters were a white Vauxhall Victor 2000 FD, registration RXD 996F (incorrectly referred to as RXD 966F by Inspector Large, and confirmed as such by Jeff, in "Money To Burn") and a red Austin Seven/Mini, registration BAP 245B. The Victor was one of six loaned by Vauxhall Motors for filming the series, and viewers may sometimes catch the second-unit continuity out, as some scenes of Jeff Randall's Victor show the car with a burgundy interior and others a black cabin. It is never explained how the constantly strapped-for-cash Randall owns a nearly new Victor, rather than running around in an old banger as might be expected. The actual car bearing the RXD 996F plate was last seen in a scrapyard in Wales, in 1976. The red Mini was used by all three characters, but was Marty Hopkirk's car and driven by Jeannie Hopkirk after his death. The car was also used briefly for a scene in one episode of The Persuaders!, when Tony Curtis shows up in disguise as a butler at Lord Brett Sinclair's country abode. The current whereabouts of this Mini remain unknown, although it was known to have road tax and an MoT certificate until August 2018.

Hi, thanks for rebuilding the article. It really did need to be nuked and restarted and sourced, long time coming. Can you source the above and readd it. It would be good to keep working on this and trying to get it up to GA standard.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:41, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The two main sources I have are the Boxtree Randall & Hopkirk and Andrew Pixley's booklet with the special edition DVD set which is very detailed will probably have something. I seem to remember the Vauxhall (one of them) in Department S. REVUpminster (talk) 14:57, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have the full set of DVDs but not the special version. There is a 1994 book on the series I see, is that Boxtree?. It does seem a shame to have to redirect all of the episodes. When we have so many episodes on more recent US TV series. But they do need to be sourced and have evidence of coverage.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:28, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=9780752209159 This is the Boxtree book. I have in the pixley book some stuff about the cars which is slightly different to what was there before as it refers to RXD996F and RXD997F that can go in the production section but special effects should come after filming then locations. I am slowly doing it when I have time.REVUpminster (talk) 17:34, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't included the episodes of the other series the cars appeared although they are in the booklet as I don't want to fall foul of copyvio.REVUpminster (talk) 18:22, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Title card request (1960s TV western)

[edit]

Hi, I respectfully make the request that the The Guns of Will Sonnett could use a color title card, as it only has b/w photos. I noticed you uploaded title cards for Cimarron Strip and High Chaparral, two of the best TV westerns, so I thought I'd ask if you have the time someday. The current infobox pic could be moved further down to the right of the first season episode list. I test moved it there and it looked good. I added an existing cast photo to the Development section today. Thanks. I don't need a reply. I'm sure it will happen eventually. 5Q5| 15:34, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. Excellent, thanks! 5Q5| 17:16, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
