Bug? and consider semi-protect
Hi. I noticed that you just protected the Crass page due to the recent vandalism, but perhaps a semi-block would work instead, since I beleive all of those accounts were just created and therefore are not able to edit semi-protected things. Also, for some reason, crass no longer is showing up on my watchlist, even though when I look at my list of watched pages it's on there, and even though when I'm on the page, it says I've watched it. Do you know what might be up with that? Also, why are items on my watchlist underlined some times but not others? The Ungovernable Force 20:43, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- FYI, crass is showing up again. Plus it looks like the vandal is gone (for now). The Ungovernable Force 05:54, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
You removed my vandal note on Curps' talk page...
Why did you remove my notice to Curps about the vandalism? According to the policy: "If you see vandalism (as defined below), revert it and leave a warning message on the vandal's talk page using the system below." --Lorian 21:04, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- As left by Master Jay on my talk page:
- You left a vandalism warning, as if Curps was the vandal. That was the mistake. --Jay(Reply) 21:06, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Oh I see what I did, he reverted to a previous vandal and I though it was him, sorry about that :) --Lorian 21:12, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Adam Carr
Hi Master Jay Adam Carr is back from his travels, and has announced his intentions on the Cuba talk page to "resume combat" as the "Fidelistas have been busy reinserting their pathetic lies in my absence". Again this is entire and unneccessary nonsense. Would you mind keeping an eye on the situation. Thanks.--Zleitzen 14:26, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Merci beaucoup!
Thank you, Master Jay/Archives May-June 2006! Thank you for voting for my recent RfA, which passed (to my extreme surprise and shock) with a total tally of 66/15/2. For that, I would like to thank you and offer a helping hand in any admin-related tasks that may be required -- it's as simple as leaving a message on my talkpage. Thanks again! -→Buchanan-Hermit™/!? 22:27, 23 May 2006 (UTC) |
IP blocks
Greetings, friend. It's a pain in the ass to deal with recurring IP vandals, but most anyone with an IP can change it if they so desire - and it may end up with an innocent. IP's are also much more likely to be shared by a household, a class, even a community. Hence, while a username can be blocked infinitely under the right circumstances (per order of arbcom, or if it is vulgar, an imposter, or a sockpuppet of a banned user), an IP can be blocked for a maximum of one month. Please let me know if you have any questions with regard to policy on this matter - as you know from experience, all matters of policy are open to change through agreement of the community. Cheers! File:Atlanticpuffin4.jpg | Hello Jay. Thank you for your support at my request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. You can see me in action and observe what then happened as a result. Naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out. I look forward to working with you in the future. Your revert to Alan Shepard
Thank you for your attempts to improve Wikipedia. However, I would like to remind you that Wikipedia is not censored for minors, not even for profanity or pornography. Everyone is encouraged to remove offensive material and obscenities that are blatantly vandalism, but please do not remove/censor profanities or remove/disclaim sexually explicit material or links that are relevant to the article. Why are you deleting work I am posting?
it does not violate copyrighting law, and I would like to know under what authority you are proceeding?

Afi0956 Block
I appreciate you extending the block to Afi0956. However, the last block enacted on 205.155.54.114 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) in question was for one week (this is the third time she's come back right after a block and blanked a notice). Could you possibly make the two correspond by blocking the Afi0956 account for one week as well (minus whatever time has elapsed)?
My RfA
Hello, Master Jay/Archives May-June 2006, and thank you for the supportive vote on my recent RfA! With a final vote of 84/1/4, I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. I will be slowly acclimating myself to my new tools over the next months, but welcome any and all feedback and suggestions on how I might be able to use them to help the project. Your block of User:Steers got horns kid, you don't
In regard to your block of this user for correctly tagging the accounts of Kramden4700 (talk · contribs) and Tobyvonmeistersinger (talk · contribs) as abusive sockpuppets of Spotteddogsdotorg (talk · contribs), I am leaving you the same message I left on Andypandy1337's talk page. Please check with User:Splash and User:ErikNY about this, see the discussions on their talk pages, see these two AfDs which were voided because of sockpuppetry [1] [2], these two edits during the AfD to disrupt it [3] [4], and these two edits by Kramden4700 (talk · contribs) right after the AfD redirecting in violation of the just voided AfD [5] [6]. Kramden4700 is another of the abusive socks that originated with Spotteddogsdotorg (talk · contribs). Tobyvonmeistersinger is an old one of his socks that Splash missed when most of his socks were blocked a couple of days ago. There are probably several more. Helping track them down and correctly tag their userpages as socks is not vandalism -- is it?70.108.122.27 06:46, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Need your opinion
Yesterday, I put 8 articles like this one up for deletion because they're an overkill. But I think they also violate Wikipedia policy of what Wikipedia is not. Under "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information" section it says that Wikipedia is not a news report. To check out the afd page, you can see it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2006 FIFA World Cup - Group A. Kingjeff 13:40, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
