Break the Ice

Im trying to find the person who added it in the first place to get a source, but I can't find them in the history and i'm not German... I only made the article because it was added to the Blackout article. Piece of me hasnt been confirmed by a source yet it still has its own article... --Jak3m 16:15, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

UK chart position

The website of the UK chart gets updated on sundays @ 19:00GMT (in half an hour). The countdown of the album chart positioned Blackout at number 2 about half an hour ago Practice patience please! and UKers know the albums at number 2 because its just been on the radio!--Jak3m 18:26, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

If you were truly being patient, you would wait the half hour, rather than re-inserting an incorrect source into the article. - eo 18:31, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Well ive now added a new source which shows blackout at number 2 Maybe I shouldnt of over reacted but people shouldnt of deleted it as i had notified editors on the matter and i knew it was at number two.--Jak3m 18:32, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Seether Etc

Well can we at least make a page with ALL chart positions, other charts outside of US also matter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steve37 (talkcontribs) 17:51, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Can You please stop editing it back. I updated the charts and yours are outdated. If you insist on doing this yourself then at least do everyone a favour by looking ap the chart positions first. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steve37 (talkcontribs) 15:56, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Either Change it to what its meant to be or leave it alone. It was perfect the way i had it set out with the international and South African charts. I made the page and id appreciate it if i could update it as smoothly as possible without someone butchering it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steve37 (talkcontribs) 19:38, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Bananarama info and images

Hi, I´m a Spanish Bananarama fan. Can I write anything about them?

  • I think that singles info must be before albums info, because Bananarama have always been a best selling singles group, and compilations info would be after albums info.
  • I have info about Spanish Charts.
  • I´d like to write info about their video compilations.
  • I want to show Bananarama photos.

Thanks. EncicloCharlie 23:21, 16 November 2007.

  • Can I start a Bananarama Video info page?
  • Any Bananarama song titles are not correct. Can I write them?
  • Can I show Bananarama sleeves? I think there is not copyright.

Thanks, EncicloCharlie 00:11, 17 November 2007.

Goodbye

All Bananarama info I´ve changed has been deleted by you. Sorry. I will not writte anything about them. All ONLY can be written by you. EncicloCharlie, 00:40, 19 November 2007

I've left several messages on your talk page. Sorry you've decided to leave, but I'm not in the mood for a pity party. - eo (talk) 00:43, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
I don´t understand..
  • Why can you show "WOW!" sleeve but I can "Venus" sleeve not?
  • If any Video sleeve and any Single sleeve have same cover... Why can I not use that image (that you had used)?
  • Why can credits not be written in Video pages?

Sorry, I left Bananarama pages, EncicloCharlie. 1:03, 19 November 2007

How can I vandalize pages I´ve created?

I don´t understand... EncicloCharlie

Hit Predictor

Did you know that Hit Predictor is Billboard's/Radio and Records charts? I have never had trouble with updating chart numbers on here before, but you can have the job of posting chart data from here on out. And FYI, other people have had no trouble in posting from Hit Predictor since those are Billboard's numbers BravesFan2006 02:49 CST 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Could you tell me why my addition of content was not a "good edit"? I'll be pleased to remove the content if it's not appropriate for the article. Bsherr (talk) 21:24, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

I see you've reverted my edit without replying to me. I'll lay out my argument for you anyway.

WP policy states AfD is only conclusive as to whether or not the subject article should be deleted or kept. Per the guidelines, merge is only a recommendation, not a mandate. Actual realization of a merge, if recommended, is still discretionary.

"An AFD decision is either to 'keep' or 'delete' the article. AFD discussions which fail to reach rough consensus default to 'keep'. The AFD decision may also include a strong recommendation for an additional action such as a 'merge' or 'redirect'." --WP:GD

Note that the recommendation for additional action is optional, and constitutes no more than a "strong recommendation".

Even a recommendation to merge is itself a recommendation to delete. But a consensus for deletion is not a recommendation not to merge.

Adding content to another article from a previously deleted atricle is consistent with policy. AfD deletion is not a lifetime ban of any and all of the content of the article. Am I wrong about the policy?

Also, the AfD of one article has no bearing on another article, unless it's a recreation of a previously deleted article in entirety.

Furthermore, excluding charts representing most of the world is a violation of WP:Bias. Bsherr (talk) 21:31, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Vanessa L. Williams

"Please do not revert discography cleanup efforts, as you did a few times to Vanessa L. Williams. Tables should not be filled with unnecessary colors, boldfacing, etc. in order to decorate them or make them look "prettier". I fixed these tables per WP:CHARTS, WP:MoS and [WP:NPOV]]. Please do not change them back again. Thanks. - eo (talk) 01:30, 28 November 2007 (UTC)"

Take a look at what I did, everything was the same, just changed the span on the columns. All the other formating was kept the same. --Jeanenawhitney (talk) 01:41, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Re:Vanessa L. Williams

I have been looking at that Vanessa L. Williams page for months now. It was just too big. I made a couple of edits to put the albums and singles into navboxes. You, on the other hand decided to revert those changes. So I started reading the wp manuel of style and found that large articles should be broken up sometimes. I checked some of the other artists out and found a lot of them had separate discography pages. So that is why I broke out the discography VLW. This seemed to get you upset. Then I reformatted the table. Keeping it as close to the original as possible. But you decided that it was wrong. And reverted it. So I went back and took out the bold and changed the header color to which you were disagreeing on. I even looked up everything you pointed out to me POV, etc.. With that said the table was exactly the same in formatting with the exception of the column widths. My edit makes it easier to read. And then you went and formatted the albums into wikitable (which was not done in the original VLW page) and you also put in cites. Well I just took out those cites with the wording in question because I could not find the information anywhere. So if you can’t prove it you take it out, correct? So what is your problem? Is it because someone is redoing your work? I am not looking for an argument or an edit war. But I would like a reason why you are so protective of that table?

—Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeanenawhitney (talkcontribs) 13:13, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

PS, I just checked some of the other tables on other pages, so don't give the reason to be the same, they are not. I also see you have this same problem with other editors. --Jeanenawhitney (talk) 13:23, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Please take a look at Britney Spears' Blackout sales

Somethin ain't correct there. If you sum the sales you'll see it's 950.000 and not 810.000 as it says on the Worldwide sales. But everytime I change the sales, the change is edited back. Why??

Fair use rationale for Image:Siouxsie Spellbound.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Siouxsie Spellbound.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Draftlock 00:26, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Madonna's New Album NOT titled Licorice

"Licorice catches out Larry Flick Posted: 07 December 2007

Looks like DJ Larry Flick may have got caught out by a fan made fake album cover that had been floating around the internet since August (see story below).

Talented artist Robster had made the fake cover and called the album Licorice - so unless Madonna has started to name her albums after being inspired by her fans artwork then the suggested album title (which is now all over the internet as confirmed in various news reports) is probably not true....but fans did like the name!"

Can you please go back and fix all of this? Maddyfan (talk) 17:39, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

More

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7132227.stm

Madonna's next album will be called Licorice and will be released in April, according to music website Billboard. Former Billboard editor Larry Flick revealed the news on his radio show and played two new songs - Candy Shop and The Beat Goes On - the site said.

But fan site Drowned Madonna claimed to have been at a listening session and said the album was tentatively titled Give It To Me.

It will be Madonna's last studio album for her longtime record label Warner.

Her future releases will come out under a ground-breaking recording and touring deal with concert promoter Live Nation.

Candy theme

Drowned Madonna also said the album featured Kanye West and was finished several days ago.

The site reported that the singer used a room decked out in a candy theme to play tracks to record company staff in New York.

The album will contain 13 songs, while the singer is trying to choose whether Candy Shop or 4 Minutes To Save The World will be the first single, the site said.

It also gave details of another track called Miles Away, which it said was "dance and acoustic someway at the same time", adding: "Madonna has a lot of harmonies on it. Her voice sounds great."

Drowned Madonna said Licorice was the name given to the album in mock artwork made by one fan, which then spread around the internet. Madonna's UK publicists said they could not confirm any information.

The stories came as Madonna received a Grammy Award nomination for best long form music video for her film of The Confessions Tour. Maddyfan (talk) 17:42, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I have a question for you. Can you tell me why you moved the page back to the previous title? The album will be titled Licorice according to Billboard and I even cited the source. Here is the link again in case you overlooked it. [1] Admc2006 (talk) 19:20, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Oh, OK. In case this gets out of hand you might want to move-protect the page. Admc2006 (talk) 19:46, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
The album is not titled Licorice. Maddyfan (talk) 20:16, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Official statement

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Madonna's record label has denied reports that her new album will be called "Licorice" and will come out in late April.

Billboard.com reported that Sirius Satellite Radio host Larry Flick, a former Billboard editor, announced the title and release date on his "OutQ" show Thursday.

"Sirius does not know what they are talking about," Warner Bros, spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg said in an email to Reuters. "Wrong title. Release date wrong etc."

Flick reportedly aired two songs from the album, "Candy Shop" and "The Beat Goes On," both of which leaked online earlier this year.

The new album will be Madonna's last release of new material for Warner Bros. before she begins a wide-ranging 10-year deal with Artist Nation, a new initiative launched by concert promoter Live Nation. Warner Bros. will also release a hits collection.

eo, can you put this into the article? Perhaps write a little summary of what happened. It's very interesting, and you're good at getting straight to the point. Maddyfan (talk) 20:17, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

I downloaded it when it first leaked and immediately fell in love with it. It's what I love about Goldfrapp, their ever changing musical style. I can't wait to hear it fully mixed and mastered. What did you think of it? -- Underneath-it-All (talk) 21:24, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Madonna's forthcoming album

Hello. You recently reverted an edit I made to the article on Madonna's forthcoming studio album. I am a little troubled by this, as you did so without providing any reason. The edit is certainly truthful (more than I can be confident in saying for other bits of the article), and is relevant given the current rumour of the title and that Timbaland is a co-producer on the new record. I woudl appreciate to understand if the contribution is inconsistent with any WP guidelines, or if this is merely a style preference. Thanks. JKW111 (talk) 07:34, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair enough. Thanks. I thought that including it would assist people in deciding whether they beleive the rumoured title (ie would she really call it the same as a Timbaland song), but without being able to say this directly, it probably was too subtle. Cheers. JKW111 (talk) 23:06, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Bananarama sleeves

Hi. I have uploaded 7 Bananarama single covers, because they are better than you use (from bananarama.co.uk): Venus, I heard a rumour, Love in the first degree, I can't help it, I want you back, Love, truth and honesty and Nathan Jones. I´ve only put Venus sleeve on Venus. I think it´s fair use, but I need an article page to show them. I´d like to you use these sleeves. Can you help me? Thanks, EncicloCharlie 18:09 16 December 2007. —Preceding comment was added at 16:08, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I´d like to show these sleeves because they have high resolution. To conserve I need to put on an article (fair use). Then They will be deleted. So I would need your help. Is it possible? Thanks. Bananarama sleeves updates

Hi. I´d like to upload some Bananarama sleeves. My images show higher resolution than their article sleeves. If I don´t put them on an article, these pics will be delated (they are from Fair Use). Bolding

Hi Eric, are albums in discographies meant to be bolded? Like on Gwen Stefani discography, should L.A.M.B. and The Sweet Escape be in bold? Also, since you're a chart specialist, 50 Cent discography is an FL candidate. Feel free to suggest any improvements at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/50 Cent discography/archive2. Thanks.
