You probably know that Wikipedia's best articles become Featured Articles. But did you know that a similar process exists for images? Go to Featured Picture Candidates to help judge which images are both attractive and valuable to Wikipedia.

Of course, the best can be found on featured pictures. Many of these photos are taken by Wikipedians. If you are a photographer, you can add yourself to the list, or encourage others by nominating great photos you come across. Feel free to use featured pictures in your own works (according to the terms on the image description page).

Question from Merychippus (17:59, 21 November 2024)

[edit]

Hello. You are my assigned Wikipedia mentor. I've been working on a draft of a short article — would you be able to give some feedback? --Merychippus (talk) 17:59, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merychippus Good day and thank you for the question. I believeTHIS is your article which you are working on. First of all, pls note that for a subject to have a page in Wikipedia, the subject needs to pass Wikipedia WP:GNG criteria which means the subject needs to have significant coverage by independent, reliable sources where by the subject is talked about in depth and in length and not merely passing mentioned for verification. Pls read Help:Your first article to understand in more detail on how to write an article and also pls transfer your content to "Draft" space instead of your sub page - see Wikipedia:Drafts. To add inline citation - pls see Template:Cite web and Template:Cite book for sources from the web and books respectively. (note you need to provide the page number for books source). Your source here-1 is just the info of the book which does not support the content of your draft article and your second source - here-2 is only partially state the poem (primary source) - we need secondary reliable source for such both can not be used to contribute to the notability guidelines. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 20:29, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, If an organisation has been flagged for containing promotional content, and the details of the organisation added in the article are detailed and mirror what a brochure might say, outweighing comparable pages in the level of such details, how might I proceed? --Lazybuffalo (talk) 17:45, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lazybuffalo Good day. Pls provide the article name in the Wikipedia and pls state which paragraph that the content is promotional and in violation of copyright for me to help you. Cassiopeia talk 20:32, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Alexoguta on Draft:Senator Kenneth Chukwuemeka Eze (05:20, 27 November 2024)

[edit]

How do I create a reference? --Alexoguta (talk) 05:20, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Alexoguta Good day. Before adding a reference you need to make sure the subject meets Wikipedia notability guidelines which means the subject needs to have signification coverage by independent, reliable sources whereby the sources talk about the subject in depth and in length for verification. I suggest you to read WP:Your first article. To add a inline citation (reference), you can use the horizontal format of Template:Cite we and WP:Cite book if the source is from the web or book respectively. Stay safe and best.
