Racism against Asians
Hello. I just want to let you know that I reverted your good faith edit on this disambiguation page [1]. I don't agree with your contention as stated in the tag. So, in my edit history rational I requested that you please discuss this issue on a talk page somewhere and gain consensus for this change. Also, this disambiguation has links to much information on the subject. And it seems the concept (or subject) is sufficiently covered in all these other articles. Thanks. ---Steve Quinn (talk) 23:05, 29 June 2022 (UTC)

Big kudos for getting started on Legality of conversion therapy and Medical views on conversion therapy. I find big content migrations like that to be pretty daunting, but you've handled it perfectly.

Draft:Robert G. Storey - Nuremberg trial connection
Hi Buidhe, this draft may be of interest to you (or tps's) given your contributions to Nuremberg trials. I have done a little bit of work on it but have not touched the trial section other than removing a large quote that seemed excessive for a stub-ish article. I am currently waiting for the copyright violations to be revdel'd before resubmitting/accepting. In hindsight a bad decline on my part. S0091 (talk) 20:07, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

Lead section quote
Hi Buidhe, thanks for removing that quote from the lead in the Priyamvada Gopal article. I agree that it does not accurately summarise the body or maintain a dispassionate tone. It seems one or two editors are intent on preserving those bad faith characterisations in the lead section. The quote is actually from an opinion piece about a dispute (involving Gopal) that occurred four years ago. I hope wiki editors keep an eye on this. Minu Siddiqi (talk) 04:51, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

Review of articles pertaining to the Greco-Persian Wars
Hi Buidhe, hope you are doing well. I was wondering; would you be willing to reasses the GA-class statuses of articles listed in the Greco-Persian Wars series? A lot of them were raised to GA class over a decade ago, but I think none of them actually fit the needed GA criteria. From what I saw at a cursory glance, 80% of the content in these articles rely on Herodotus (a 2,500 year old primary source) and Tom Holland (a British writer with zero degrees in history/Classics). Streams of ink were written about this subject by actual academics throughout the past 1-2 decades, so it shouldn't be any issue improving these articles in the future. Fact that they still apparently rely on Herodotus and Holland anno 2022 is embaressing I'd say. - LouisAragon (talk) 03:54, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
- LouisAragon I can believe that. Many GAs are in poor shape. I'd encourage you to start individual or community reassessment of articles that look questionable. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time for Wikipedia editing right now. (t · c) buidhe 03:57, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

Fractal massacre
I came across this and thought of you. If you have a shortage of projects to work on, you may consider seeing if an article on fractal massacres can be written. As far as I know, the term was invented by Barbara Alice Mann (Q64005075), and it has received some usage, especially in writings about Native American genocide. I have too much in the works for now, but given your work on genocide studies, it may be of interest to you. I'll return to it one day. Thanks, Urve (talk) 21:54, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Regarding the notice at the top of the Anfal campaign Talk page and WP:NPA
Hello buidhe. Regarding the title and with regards to this edit [2], at the top of the Talk page is a banner saying: "This page is not a forum for general discussion about Anfal campaign. Any such comments may be removed or refactored. Please limit discussion to improvement of this article. You may wish to ask factual questions about Anfal campaign at the Reference desk."
When I reverted your edit, I thought the user insulting me bringing it back again. Otherwise, I would have made the Talk section here.
A comment made that is irrelevant to the discussion, and is making personal attacks and framing a slanderous narrative by a user who has harassed me in the past (some people can't get over grudges when they get proven wrong) has absolutely no relevance to improving the article. If you reverted the edit because this is something should be reported to ANI, then I will do so. This user has a bit of a track record [3] and is often asked to stop attacking users like in this recent diff. [4]
This is a user who has harassed multiple times in the past, and the last time I was very active on Wikipedia admin EvergreenFir even had to intervene and tell him to stop. [5] You have actually been involved in a dispute of his making, due to his insistence that an unreliable user-generated content website where the articles are either copy-pasted existing works or of the website's own creation with no references, sources, or attribution.[6] TheTimesAreAChanging even commented on that thread, continuing to attempt to defend a terribly unreliable source on the basis that it's used on Wikipedia... this is one of many such examples. He has held quite the grudge for that and other cases where he was wrong.
Equating people to Holocaust deniers which is the utmost slander for doing nothing more than sharing mainstream US news articles, misframing things to attack me with, and other strong language and denigration like "repeating apeshit claims" is out of line. I'm framing a response to the blatant slander.
Could you please explain why such a comment which the banner at the Talk page says to remove is expected to stay and when WP:NPA says: "Derogatory comments about other editors may be removed by any editor."? Saucysalsa30 (talk) 04:10, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

You are deleting all my edits. Why? You said that the ECHR is not an authority on ICL to remove a case that was not ICL but a domestic prosecution in Germany. The defendent was imprisoned and remained in prison. It is philosophical to say the ECHR is not an authority in this situation. You are deleting books about the Genocide Convention from the Genocide Convention article because they are "too general". You are making false accusations that content was removed when it wasn't. It doesn't need to removed. It is really annoying too. Why are you bugging me? Can you stop? Gwynhaas (talk) 15:55, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) Without commenting on the content issues, I think Gwynhaas is a sockpuppet of this IP range blocked by Bbb23. Gwynhaas account is 9 days old and is already making substantial changes in articles relating to the Armenian genocide like Genocide Convention, and is quite literally replying in place of the blocked IP range in a discussion from June (to which the IP's block was related too, see [7]). ZaniGiovanni (talk) 16:36, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- I am really fucking mad right now. None of the edits I made to Genocide Convention are about the Armenian genocide. I made a comment in support of Buidhe in a discussion when I saw people were objecting that the article was 90% written by one editor (I don't know who), and pushing heavily biased government sources. My comment was against using those sources, by the way. I have not added a single word about the Armenian genocide to any article on this entire encyclopedia, except for commenting on a discussion. Is that what this is about? Gwynhaas (talk) 16:53, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- Weren't you arguing that government sources are bad, but there is a priest's book apparently and it changes everything? To which Buidhe made a good point. Anyway Gwynhaas, I'm not here to argue whether you're a sock or not. Commenting in a discussion from June which involved a blocked IP was odd to me from a 9-day account, and I thought there was potential sockpuppetry going on. Apologies if I'm mistaken. And you were making edits partially regarding the Armenian genocide in the Convention page [8]. ZaniGiovanni (talk) 17:23, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- Oh my god, I don't even know what sockpuppetry is, man, look, I didn't know some blocked nefarious ip was commenting in that discussion. I'm not trying to get in trouble. What you are saying, if I did it, would be really not collegial. I am only trying to give input in a discussion. There are a lot of complaints. Maybe they are from ips, you know better than I, but they appear unresolved.

- For Genocide Convention article that line has probably been there since the dawn of time. We're only moving it around. Buidhe said we should keep it in the article as a comment about the reasons the Convention was adopted. The Armenian genocide has nothing to do with why I am editing this article. The ICJ has decided in two cases related to Yugoslavia to interpret the silence of the Convention as allowing retroactivity. It's not as small an issue as Buidhe thinks, but I take responsibility for not explaining it well. It's discussed in several full-length books. Please stop deleting it from the article.
- I have a general interest in improving this content. Deleting the ICJ cases is not a step in the right direction. That's what I am trying to edit on. It's just technical boring stuff that I think is important to get right at the foundation, noting and not resolving current disputes where very little is settled. That's what we're working on. I don't know why that's a problem. I hope you'll allow me to continueGwynhaas (talk) 18:51, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification, Gwynhaas. I was a bit confused initially because of certain circumstances. I hope you reach consensus with Buidhe here (or on the article talk page) regarding the Convention page. Best, ZaniGiovanni (talk) 19:14, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022
Hello Buidhe,
- Backlog status
After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.
Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.
- Coordination
- MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
- Open letter to the WMF
- The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
- TIP - Reviewing by subject
- Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.
- New reviewers
- The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.
- Reminders
- Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
- If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing
{{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page. - If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

Topic of Vehicular cycling is the practice not the movement
Please stop making edits to the Vehicular cycling article that change the topic from the practice to the movement which promotes the practice. Those are related but different topics. The Cycling article is about cycling and not about Cycling advocacy. That’s a separate topic and article. Similarly, the Vehicular cycling article is about the practice, not about the movement that promotes it. Just because there are sources referring to the movement does not dictate the topic of the article about the practice. —-В²C ☎ 09:11, 13 August 2022 (UTC)

Next NPP Drive
Seen as the last one was such a success, would you be interested in helping run another one in October? Thanks, Zippybonzo | Talk (he|him) 19:50, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
Zippybonzo I agree that October would be a good time to run it but unfortunately I'm quite busy these days. Although I could help, I'm not really in a position to do half the coordinator work (t · c) buidhe 22:02, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- I can do most of the work during it, I just need some help setting it up and sending MassMessages in the beginning and whatnot. Thanks, Zippybonzo | Talk (he|him) 06:52, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- Zippybonzo Then we're on, I can definitely set it up and send messages. (t · c) buidhe 06:58, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

Settled the case regarding Makiya and villages
Hello Buidhe, since the editor pushing hard for inclusion didn't do the leg work, I did it for them. You are correct in observing there isn't an indication of Makiya doing research. His entire substantiation for the villages figure is a single sentence. However, to make matters worse, Makiya didn't get it from HRW or someone else. He says its his own, based on a vague "analysis". Check out this Talk section where I put more details. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Anfal_campaign#On_Makiya_and_villages Thanks for your valuable insights and guidance for editors on that Talk page! Hello again, and thanks for sending the page to AfD. However, true as it is that I recommended BLARing the Bobby Witt dab page, and that I understand the fact that I don't own the page, I wouldn't have unilaterally implemented my suggestion to the page. If you think that BLARing is the best course of action (rather than "no consensus"), might I recommend sending the decision to DRV? Thanks, NotReallySoroka (talk) 05:51, 3 September 2022 (UTC)

first homosexual movement scheduled for TFA
This is to let you know that the first homosexual movement article has been scheduled as today's featured article for October 7, 2022. Please check the article needs no amendments. If you're interested in editing the main page text, you're welcome to do so at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/October 7, 2022, but note that a coordinator will trim the lead to around 1000 characters anyway, so you aren't obliged to do so.
For Featured Articles promoted recently, there will be an existing blurb linked from the FAC talk page, which is likely to be transferred to the TFA page by a coordinator at some point.
We suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors from the day before this appears on Main Page. Thanks! Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:42, 9 September 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Malay literature (disambiguation)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Malay literature (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Thoughts about these edits?
[11] I believe you originally added the cited content. I dont think these new tweaks are exactly within WP:VER, and I think they constitute WP:TENDENTIOUS.[12] I believe said editor is trying to shift the "blame" (?). - LouisAragon (talk) 21:54, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
I agree. The Russian occupation should be mentioned, probably, but it needs to be in a different sentence to avoid confusion about who was killing the Armenians /Assyrians (t · c) buidhe 23:27, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
- [13] "however, in the next decades, most of the Christians were either killed as an inevitable part of the advancing Ottoman troops, the later Russian invasion, and raids by Kurdish tribes". - LouisAragon (talk) 16:03, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
- No way. First of all we're not in the business of editorializing if something is "inevitable". Second, I know that the cited sources don't support that the Russian invasion killed Christians in Urmia, which is what the sentence is trying hard to imply. (t · c) buidhe 16:45, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi!
- First, I want to apologize for joining a discussion that was between two users, but just now, I coincidentally noticed this while surfing through Wikipedia and would like to explain the edit part by part. The phrase "most of the Christians" is not a creation of myself, and it was in the original version. The "inevitable" part comes from "In 1915 and in July 1918, the attacks against Assyrian tribes and massacres of villagers that were an inevitable part of the advance of the Ottoman army in Urmia and Salmas Valleys were carried out by the 'Special...," which @LouisAragon referred to in an edit ([14]). The mention of the Russian invasion and raids by Kurdish tribes come from pages 72 and 71 in [15], which reads "The Ottoman occupation west of Lake Urmia, which took place between 1907 and 1912, followed by the Russian occupation until 1918, created a situation which the Iranian authorities were powerless to do anything about, and the Christians of the Urmia region found themselves trapped, left to face the endemic violence of raids by Kurdish tribes." The raids by the Kurdish tribes are further elaborated on throughout pages 91 to 92 and perhaps in a few more. The conclusion of the document also includes the local people as a factor in the massacres (but not the Russian, so I should have read that part).
- Frankly, I did not have the specific intention of "blaming" the Russians in the genocide. Just by reading the first pages (as quoted in the previous paragraph), I took them as a factor. I am sorry the misunderstanding that would be caused by the edit regarding the Russians. However, my concern that I tried to address through the edit was the only mention of the Ottoman Empire that didn't wholly reflect the sources, which had the possibility of creating a simplistic view that the Ottoman Empire went on a global rampage by invading its neighbors to kill all the Christians in addition to the genocides committed within their borders.
- On a different note, just now, I removed the word "inevitable" (although it is included in the source) and the Russian invasion part to prevent confusion. Ayıntaplı (talk) 17:19, 17 September 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined, with regret
Hi Buidhe,
Yes, this was just a blank page and so arguably met WP:A3. Given that it was easily searchable, in my opinion a speedy deletion would not have been a decision made in good faith (do I even need to cite WP:AGF?) to simply delete it.
Please see User talk:Monaroboy5431#Huawei Mate 50 moved to draftspace - I also stand by my description of the creation of that blank page as "lazy editing practice".
