Armenian language
[edit]Of course this business with "Eastern dialect" is nonsense, but to plug the hole you may want to add a note in the Infobox with the explicit reference to the language article in the Constitution. We already have such a note in connection with "Presidential republic". Now add one more for official language. It will be proudly displayed as note [1]. I had to follow this course in Tajikistan to stop persistent vandalism from Farsi-oriented editors. Good luck. --Zlerman (talk) 08:42, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- I added the note. Thanks for the suggestion. --Սահակ/Sahak (talk) 09:03, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. [edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Dawnseeker2000 22:16, 19 November 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Standard Ebooks links
[edit]Hi! I see that you added a link to Standard Ebooks to A Sicilian Romance. Thanks for doing so; in the future, can you please use Template:StandardEbooks? It will allow us to better keep track of where in Wiki there are links and potentially change the phrasing of the link if necessary. Smith(talk) 08:11, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
Username
[edit]Hi, I just wanted to make a quick comment about your username. As per Wikipedia:Username policy, a non-Latin username is allowed, but can be problematic. From Wikipedia:Signatures;
Editors with non-Latin usernames are welcome to edit in Wikipedia. However, non-Latin scripts, such as Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Indic scripts, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Thai and others, are illegible to most other contributors of the English Wikipedia. Not everyone uses a keyboard that has immediate access to non-Latin characters, and names that cannot be pronounced cannot be retained in memory. As a courtesy to the rest of the contributors, users with such usernames are encouraged to sign their posts (at least in part) with Latin characters. For an example refer to User:Παράδειγμα, who signs his posts as Παράδειγμα/Paradigma.
I understand your username is apparently Armenian, and (roughly) translates to
"Sahak
". I'm not sure what the significance of that is to you, but if you would consider adding that, or another Latinized name or word to your signature, it would make interacting with you a great deal easier for your fellow editors. To attach a Latinized word or name to your signature, just go to "Preferences", and on the first page, under "User Profile", scroll down to "Signatures". There you will see a text box where you can customize your signature to your liking (you will notice a large number of unique, colorful and creative signatures among the various talk pages throughout Wikipedia) and you will be able to modify your signature with an add-on in Latin script that will help others identify you and communicate with you. I hope this helps, and happy editing!. - wolf 11:38, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks wolf, I updated my signature. -Սահակ/Sahak (talk) 12:20, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

Armenian replacements
[edit]You do seem to have replaced "Western Armenian" with "Armenian" in various articles. Maybe it makes sense in some contexts, but there's at least one where that's not the case [2]. If an article's source has specified it's Western Armenian, and if the editor who contributed that content has kept that, then replacing this term with something less specific won't usually be constructive. – Uanfala (talk) 21:47, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
Standard Ebooks links
[edit]Hi Sahak - thanks for adding links for Standard Ebooks productions. In the future, can you please do so using Template:StandardEbooks? This helps us better keep track of what places do and do not have links, and means that if the project decides to update the wording of how we want to phrase these links, it can be done all at once. Thanks! Smith(talk) 10:03, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
Will do. thanks Smith. Սահակ/Sahak (talk) 10:34, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Edit summaries
[edit]Greetings and thank you for your editing! I have no problem with the editing you have been doing, but you should leave an edit summary with each edit to inform other editors of what you are doing and why you are doing it. This will avoid confusion and prevent other editors from reverting your edits. You have already been warned about edit summaries twice before (see posts for November 2017 and April 2018). Happy editing!—Anita5192 (talk) 06:21, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback Anita5192, I will add summaries to my future edits. -Սահակ/Sahak (talk) 19:37, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
Removal of an external link
[edit]Hi Սահակ/Sahak, could you please explain why you removed the PlanetMath link from Moore–Penrose inverse? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Moore%E2%80%93Penrose_inverse&diff=1061029280&oldid=1048805043 It would help if you explained your edits. Here, I just wrote this (not just for you): User:RainerBlome/How to write good edit summaries.--RainerBlome (talk) 18:36, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi RainerBlome, I removed that link because it was not working. -Սահակ/Sahak (talk) 19:37, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks for spotting this. I had not noticed that originally there had been two PlanetMath links, one working and one non-working, and you had removed only the non-working one. Even though there is not much information at the end of the link, I have now added a working version of the removed link. The target is the true equivalent of the Wikipedia article. As such, the new link is better than the other existing one, which points to just "pseudoinverse". --RainerBlome (talk) 22:58, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Western Azerbaijan (political concept), did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Please stop removing "Republic of" in front of every mention of "Armenia" without edit summary. - LouisAragon (talk) 22:06, 3 June 2022 (UTC) LouisAragon (talk) 22:06, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! LouisAragon (talk) 22:08, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

Mass editing of Debian GNU/Linux to Linux
[edit]Hello! I noticed that you have been mass editing the phrase "Debian GNU/Linux" to "Debian Linux". As indicated on the Debian page, the distribution is called "Debian" or "Debian GNU/Linux". Furthermore, this is well-cited in Debian's own documentations, such as https://www.debian.org/releases/buster/amd64/ch01s02.en.html and https://web.archive.org/web/20190402174759/https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-faq/ch-basic_defs.en.html#s-pronunciation. Was there some WP:CON for these mass edits? Top5a (talk) 10:07, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
Seeing as there is no reply, and that you are continuing edits elsewhere, the changes have been rolled back. Please be sure to not mass edit, especially incorrectly without prior proper source checking, without WP:CON. Cheers Top5a (talk) 08:05, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
