There are many gins, distilled in various countries around-the-world, available for consumption. All gins must have at least one botanical, specifically juniper, in order to be classified as a gin. The alcohol/volume content must be at least 40% for the gin to be classified as a London Dry Gin. Most London Dry Gins vary from 40% (Beefeaters, Bulldog, Brokers] to 46% (No.3 Berry Bros. & Rudd). There is also Plymouth gin [41% vol], which is distilled in its' namesake city.

Small-batch gins, produced by independent distillers, have become popular in Australia in recent years. Recently, [[78° Adelaide Hills Distillery]] small batch gin received an award in which it was rated "World's Best Gin" [citation to follow].
