Fáilte Romhat, Conas atá tú.
You need not everything about me so lets keep it at Creaven07.....for now!
I'm a 18 year old Irish person living in Tuam Co.Galway Ireland. My main interest in life is sport and I keen follower of Soccer and Gaelic Football. My interest in GAA led to me becoming a member of WP:GAA, the Wikipedia Project for Gaelic Games. My main devotion is Galway football and I have created many articles about it. If you do have any information about Galway football or indeed Gaelic football or hurling, join WP:GAA and get cracking on articles dedicated to your interests.
If not, lets continue reading, a little more about me and my life
Hobbies
[edit]My interests are not wide and varied, they are not the opposite, whatever goes in between is the likely category for my hobbies, or maybe I'm just typing words for the sake of it! In my devotions.....
Soccer
[edit]I have a huge interest in soccer or football, whatever suits ya! From an early age I watched soccer, but in recent years, my interest has gone into overdrive. This is because
1. I found Sky Sports News (who devote a lot of time to soccer in a 24 hour work day)
2. Started to go downtown and watch games I couldn't watch at home
3. Entering Secondary School means you have to up your game if you want to argue about football related matters.
My favourite teams are Liverpool F.C. & Celtic F.C. . There is no preference over the other but Liverpool were first and foremost when I was younger. I also like Juventus F.C. and F.C. Barcelona, and for Ireland, Galway United. I have active interest in the Premiership, S.P.L. obviously and a passive interest in La Liga and Serie A. I'm also interested in analysing the development of the League Of Ireland and seeing how Galway United get on.
As for the players I favour and truly respect, they include Paul McGrath, Robbie Fowler, Henrik Larsson, Alessandro Del Piero, Fernando Torres, Dirk Kuyt, Aiden McGeady, Artur Boruc, Lionel Messi and Andriy Arshavin and many others.
I love playing football with my friends and I hope to end my 10 year retirement from club football in the near future. If I do not achieve the dream closest to my heart in some shape or form! I would like my opinion on football to be respected by a large amount of people. I would settle for that. My current course in college is setting me up for a coaching career, that wouldn't be too bad either.
GAA
[edit]One of the greatest shames in this world is that Gaelic Football and Hurling are not widely appreciated on this earth. My association with Gaelic Football begin around 96 or 97, but came into full swing when Galway won thier 8th All-Ireland title in 98. This ended a 32 year wait for the Sam Maguire Cup to come to Galway, so lets say I was born just in time. They won again in 2001 and I have cherished memories of both victories.
I have yet to see my native county triumph in Hurling but I am sure it will happen sometime in the future. I love watching both sports, but Hurling is probably more enjoyable to watch. Some players you have to watch out for are Michael Meehan and Joe Canning.
I have played Gaelic Football for 11 years, (with a few interruptions) for Tuam Stars. I have won a few medals and plaques in that time as well. I'm currently a member of the Minor squad looking to conquer Galway!. I did enjoy a brief spell at Hurling for a local Tuam club as well before the under-age set-up was scrapped. As I said above, please join WP:GAA, and create more articles dedicated to GAA.
Formula 1
[edit]Another part of my early childhood discoveries, Formula 1 became an enjoyable sport to watch, although I didn't have a lot of knowledge of it. My favourite team was Ferrari and Michael Schumacher could do no wrong. Coincidentally, I lost interest in the years Michael lost his mantle on the World Championship 2005-06 but I decided to immerse myself once more for the 2007 Championship. Kimi Raikkonen soon became my favourite driver and I fell in love with Formula 1.
The last 2 seasons have been amazing but I'm finding it hard to embrace the new regualtions effect on the Championship this year, not just because Ferrari are doing badly! Hopefully things will turn around for the better of the sport and the mighty Reds
Rugby
[edit]I enjoy watching the Irish Rugby team, and it has been very enjoyable with the success they have achieved in recent years. The 2007 Rugby World Cup and 2008 Six Nations left a lot to be desired and my heart was losing faith in supporting it.
Yet in 2009, the Golden generation finally reached their holy grail. The Grand Slam success was a great achievement for the the team and our country. I did play Rugby for a short while with Tuam R.F.C. but I didn't enjoy it too much. I'm not a passionate supporter but I long for the Connacht Rugby team to qualify for the Heineken Cup some year. .
Music
[edit]This is one area of my life that my childhood couldn't grasp! Around 02, 03 did I begin to develop a love for music. I prefer Rock, Rap, R & B and many others.
As for solo artists, only one man can be my favourite, Michael Jackson, a lot is said about his personal life, but in music, creativity, you can't argue the mans genius. Album wise, I think Thriller is my favourite, just ahead of Dangerous and Billie Jean is my favourite song. I was completed taken aback when I found out he had died and I still can't believe he is gone. We truly blessed to see the genius. His music will live forever.
U2 are my favourite music band. I think they are amazing, being on top of the music world for more than 20 years. The lyrics are something which everyone can connect to. Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen are all legends!. My favourite U2 album is How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb and my favourite song is Where The Streets Have No Name. No Line On The Horizon is a respectable addition to their quality catalogue. I also like Guns N Roses, Genesis and Tuam's finest, The Saw Doctors.
In the last year and a half, I've found the music of the quality and immensely talented Phil Collins amazing. he has made some fantastic music in his career. I love listening to his music. It has led to me editing and creating articles in relation to his career
Beliefs
[edit]My strongest belief is that Ireland should be 32 counties united.
Wikipedia Interference
[edit]I go on Wikipedia at least once a day. I always used to look stuff up on this site and soon became immersed by what I could find. I soon became a part of WP:GAA and after a short break, I became an active member of the project. Its been satisfying to make several articles about Gaelic Football relating to Galway, and extremely justifying to make a decent article about the Great Sean Purcell, a legend in the game who lived in my hometown of Tuam. I am also a registered member of Irish Football WikiProject, and the Liverpool task force. More recently I have taken it upon myself to improve the quality of Phil Collins' articles, especially concerning the later part of his solo career.
Overall I enjoy making contributions but more so when it is related to sport. I hope I can make many more articles about GAA in the near future. I might sound desperate but I do believe a fair amount of decent work can't go un-noticed. So it is my hope that someone gives a Barnstar in relation to my GAA work! The barnstar has to be made first, so someone get crackin because I'm not makin to give it to myself now I am! Or even a Barnstar for the Phil Collins work I've done as well.
Because its nice to be noticed :)

What the future holds
[edit]Aside from Wikipedia, I completed my Leaving Certificate Examinations last June, 2008. I got 305 points for my lacklustre efforts in the build-up, so I'm pleased with the outcome!. I am currently doing a Sports & Development Coaching course in Letterkenny I.T. . I hope I will hold a future career in sport, either playing or coaching. Any donations to help me in my future endeavours will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
