Why this template?

I thought it would be handier than the current lack of coordination between articles about US telephone models; there's a category, but a template with model numbers would probably be easier to establish the relationship between the various models. ProhibitOnions 00:16, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Related companies

I split GTE/Automatic, Stromberg and ITT/Kellogg into a separate heading "competitors", because they were not really "related' to WE. For the most part they were more closely associated with GTE, an independent telco that was interconnected with the Bell System (had to be) but not really related otherwies. Don't agree?
