Harry Bush (artist)
[edit]- ... that gay erotic artist Harry Bush worked at the Pentagon during the 1950s? Source:
Bob Mizer Foundation, Daily XtraALT1:... that gay erotic artist Harry Bush's fear of being outed led him to destroy most of his original artwork? Source: Juxtapoz Magazine
Created by Morgan695 (talk). Self-nominated at 04:03, 28 October 2017 (UTC).
- New enough, nominator is QPQ exempt, all non-lead ¶ with citations, a copyvio check reveals no problems.
- Issues: This source, which is used to verify content of the first hook, does not appear to be an independent, reliable source, and comes across as a WP:PRIMARY source. This source also states nothing about the subject working at The Pentagon. Regarding ALT1, this source does not state that the subject destroyed his work out of fear of being outed; it just states that the subject "... was known for his isolation from the outside world at certain points, which led him to destroy his own work and question his art and its purpose". Also, the article is presently not long enough at 1,361 characters of prose. WP:DYKRULES states that articles must have a minimum of 1,500 characters of prose to qualify for DYK. - Sorry, I linked to the incorrect Mizer Foundation article (fixed it now). Also increased word count, and substantiated Pentagon fact with a more reliable newspaper source. Regarding ALT1, I unfortunately can't find a reliable source substantiating that claim; the fact that it was specifically his fear of being outed that led Bush to destroy his work is mentioned in the description of the major anthology of his work ("a fear of being outed that led him to destroy much of his own work..."), but I'm unable to access the primary material to verify this due to the financial cost of accessing the book. I amended the original article with a newspaper source that mentions his fear of copyright infringement leading him to destroy his work, but I feel like that's a less interesting factoid. - Per the above, I have struck ALT1 and the first source for the first hook. The second source provided for the first hook doesn't state anything about the 1950s, just that the subject worked at the Pentagon (at some time). So, here's an alt below, although without a 1950s mention, it may be considered by some as dull. North America1000 13:18, 3 November 2017 (UTC)

- ALT3 ... that Harry Bush obsessed that if anyone found out he was a gay erotic artist he would lose his American military pension?
- Source: "Harry obsessed that if his fixation on the Boy Next Door ever got back to his relatives, they'd conspire to strip him of his government pension and lock him up in an old age home to die." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Esemono (talk • contribs) 06:29, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- New reviewer needed to check ALT2, and should also consider whether it meets the "interesting" criterion. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:11, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

- Approving both ALT2 and ALT3, which check out with inline sources, with a preference towards ALT3. --Usernameunique (talk) 06:31, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
