Birth name

[edit]

Birth records available on sites including findmypast.co.uk show a 1984 birth of a Zawedde Ashton, in several permutations: Emma Zawedde Ashton, Emma Zawedde Muwanga-Ashton, and Emma Zawedde Ashton-Muwanga. There is also a 1990 record of a Zawedde Emma Muwanga-Ashton (perhaps representing a registration under the preferred form of the name?), and a UK Companies House record for a Zawedde Muwanga-Ashton, which is presumably the same person as this article's subject.

Info box partner

[edit]

Why does an engaged couple in a three year relationship that has produced a child not constitute "partner" status? There seems to be a general inconsistentcy regarding this. Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler are listed as partners and have been dating since 2021. Jessica Szhor and Brad Richardson are listed as partners. They have a child, but no start date is given for their relationship. Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have been together for less than a year and are listed as partners, along with the fact they are engaged. Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton are in a long term relationship, have plans to marry and have a child. Would that not by definition make then unmarried life partners? Per Template:Infobox person - "partner" here means unmarried life partners in a domestic partnership". If they are engaged then they mean to get married which would then take them out of the "unmarried life partner" category. Good examples of partners would be Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Austin Butlers relationship with Vanessa Hudgens is sufficient as they were together for almost a decade. Just because the pages you listed have them doesn't mean they should be there either. LADY LOTUSTALK 15:07, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Per Template:Infobox person - 'partner' has this definition: "If particularly relevant, or if the partner is notable; "partner" here means unmarried life partners in a domestic partnership (of any gender or sexual orientation), not business partner."
Engagement alone is not a disqualifier for partner status. In fact, many couples who have been listed as partners for several years, such as Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis, were officially engaged for that time. The fact is, we do not know when or if Zawe and Tom will actually marry; it could be in a year or ten years or never. Furthermore, in a recent printed interview, it was confirmed that Zawe Ashton and Tom Hiddleston live together, which qualifies their relationship as a domestic partnership per the definition on the linked page.
As Ms. Ashton is notable in her own right as an actress and author, and will be increasingly so due to her upcoming role in Marvel, I believe they should be on each other's pages as partners. waitwhat81 (talk) 16:40, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If there can be a reliable source found where they are referred to as partners then I see no problem adding it to the infobox. My only worry with setting such a precedent is that more and more couples will be added to an infobox just for the sake of listing significant others and get away from the true meaning of the term "partner" which is what it's intended for, not just dating. The template also mentions that it is for "unmarried longterm partner". Is 3 years considered longterm? 3 years is still honeymoon to me lol Anything after 5 or 6 I would think would be safe to add. "The Marvel actor and his partner, the actress and playwright Zawe Ashton, are engaged after three years of dating."
Entertainment Weekly, which is listed on Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources as "considered generally reliable for entertainment-related articles."
They have also been referred to as such in semi-reliable sources like Newsweek and The Evening Standard.
Your personal longterm standard is arbitrary and longer than some marriages. I understand the point you're making, but once people move in together, get engaged, and have a child together, it's generally more than "just dating". And that could all happen in less than a year. waitwhat81 (talk) 21:04, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
With that source then I'd say it's good to add. The longterm amount of time I mentioned wasn't based on anything other than personal opinion which is why I asked what is considered longterm. Thank you for finding those sources. LADY LOTUSTALK 21:27, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Update filmography

[edit]

Zawe Ashton played a small roll in eastenders as’girl number 1’ in 2002, can this be added in the filmography?
