Who added the "first ever fan forum"? It was alas not the first. Additionally, thehoosiersfanclub.com has the members of the band as members on the site along with RCA and the marketing team being in touch with the owners of the site etc. No problem with hoosiertalk being noted as a link, just don't note it incorrectly or above sites that actually have some direct association ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.195.160.59 (talk) 14:29, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Was deleted before, their single is #16 on the UK Chart this week [1], therefore is notable according to rule 2 in WP:MUSIC. Karaboom 22:52, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lifted so Blatantly

[edit]

The info on the band is blatantly ripped from elsewhere on the web. It even ends with 'You'll be able to hear the album at this exclusive performance for the Radio 2 Music Club.' It's a joke!!!! I don't know anything about the band - so will not be re-writing. But can someone please do it!! Thanks xx ^ _ ^ --Sharonlees 14:10, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Time travel?

[edit]

>>The Hoosiers performed at the V Festival on August 18, 2007.<<

Just a simple case of changing the tense here, unless they're opening for Doctor Who as well :)

Genre

[edit]

There is nothing "rock" about this band, they are indie pop. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.87.193.40 (talk) 14:43, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually its called odd pop they have made their own genre through their music. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.14.218.189 (talk) 17:33, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Goodbye Mr. A

[edit]

There is a segment of this article with information on a song that has it's own article, and that article does not contain the same information. The information about the song "Goodbye Mr. A" should be moved, or the information from that songs article should be merged with this one. Hatenames 00:42, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is "Goodbye Mr. A" really about the Steve Ditko character? It seems unlikely: the video seems more concerned with general Adam-West-style shenanigans and a Captain America lookalike. Is there a citation for the Ditko reference? If not, that paragraph should be removed. Mrstonky 02:24, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Update: I've removed the paragraph because, regardless of the accuracy, any details about the meaning of an individual song (unless it relates back to the band itself) belongs in that song's article and not in this article. Mrstonky 02:46, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Irwin was born in Royal Berks hospital and went to waingels college secondry school. He liked football and played for Woodley Wanderers FC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.226.166 (talk) 18:09, 15 November 2007 (UTC) hi again :-D[reply]

Missing Information

[edit]

I was disappointed not to hear the latest song Worst Case Scenario in the top 40 this week. If i've missed it or if anyone knows its current chart position could they please add it into the table on this page. I will try my best to find this info too. Cheers! AceLink™ (talk) 18:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The official chart position was #86 according to this. --Kife 19:08, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i like goodbye mr a, its good ;-D

Major rewrite needed

[edit]

This article definitely needs major editing, to move away from fanboy style writing. For example "there was an outrage of this because take that are past it compared to the hoosiers but since the matter has been settled" is not sourced and is pretty puerile. The comment "the boys said they would like to be listed on Wikipedia as being the best band in the world contraire to popular opinion" is also pretty unnecessary. Nice band - they deserve a proper page. Who's willing to do the work? Faltenin (talk) 22:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree dreadful article! How does a single "appear" in a video game? Does that mean it is seen or heard? Makes no sense to me. Likewise, when it "appears" in the trailer for a film, is that a shot of the cover, or is it used as part of the sound track? Myredroom (talk) 17:03, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"appear" doesn't necessarily have to refer to something visible but i believe there are better terms to use. --neonwhite user page talk 22:58, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed not, things may appear to be like other things, so it can be used conceptually. However, sounds never "appear" in that sense. They may "appear" to be odl-fashioned for example. Using it in this way is at best ambiguous, and it tends to suggest that the single (i.e. the thing in a jewel case) was seen in the game. I don't think that is what the author meant, which is why I have pointed it out. The word "used" would resolve the ambigoity. Myredroom (talk) 09:56, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree about the ambiguity though. Although the term radio appearance is widely used, so you can appear on the radio even if it isn't visual. --neonwhite user page talk 16:56, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger Proposal

[edit]

Irwin Sparkes has no notability other than being in this band, the individual article is short and has little content other than unsourced content and trivia. I propose to merge it here. --neonwhite user page talk 18:00, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Hoosier Complex

[edit]

I think some information should be put here about the band's previous identity, and the history of the name change. Also, there was a fourth band member, a keyboard/synth player, but I don't know his name. If somebody could find some sources for this, it would be great. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.208.13.138 (talk) 19:54, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Absent Elk

[edit]

I know this probably isn't the right place to put this, but shouldn't a page be created for Absent Elk? They have finished their debut album, they're on a notable record company, Sony BMG, and they've released their first single, "Sun and Water" this week. They are also embarking on a June headline tour. Is this enough to be "notable"? Keytar Shredder (talk) 12:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, thanks for your help, I will do it myself =P Keytar Shredder (talk) 12:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Someone give me a band infobox please? Keytar Shredder (talk) 12:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
