Representative/nationality flags

[edit]

I have restored the English flag to Chev Walker and the Australian flag to Michael Vella. Walker was born in England and has represented for both England and Great Britain, not for Jamaica. Vella is an Australian and has represented for Australia. He may or may not have represented for Malta, but the Australian flag should be the first option. Florriewaltz a matilda 05:55, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If Ben Galea has represented for Malta at international level, please provide a ref. Otherwise, he should have an Australian flag as he is an Australian. Florriewaltz a matilda 12:13, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Even allowing for the usual vandalism, and assumed good faith edits going in the wrong (ie. unsourced, opinionated) direction, the whole article would still benefit from the addition of more reliable sources. Compare if you will, for referencing purposes only, with the Wikipedia articles for Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, St Helens, Widnes Vikings and Crusaders Rugby League. Please be bold, but can we also have more citations attached to the prose?! Many thanks.

Eastern, and Western Division Championships

[edit]

There are web pages that make reference Colin Hutton coaching Hull Kingston Rovers to the 1961–62 Eastern Division Championship, e.g. runcornandwidnesweeklynews, and hullkr.co.uk. Were Eastern, and Western Division Championships continually contested between 1905–06 and 1961–62 when a Second Division didn't exist? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 15:31, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I believe that was the case. The first Hull KR match I saw was in 1961/2, and that was a long time ago. So, my memory is not to be totally relied upon. Is there not some historical web page that might confirm our suspicions ?

Hull, or Hull Kingston Rovers?

[edit]

The Arthur 'Bolla' Francis page at stats.allblacks.com states "…then Hull with whom he won a Rugby League Cup Final Medal". However, the past-players page at hullfc.com has only two Francis', which are Alfred Francis, and Roy Francis. Neither Hull F.C., or Hull Kingston Rovers won the Challenge Cup in this era, but both clubs won the Rugby Football League Championship, Yorkshire League, and Yorkshire Cup in this era. Could it be that Arthur 'Bolla' Francis played for Hull Kingston Rovers? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 11:13, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

According to the main source used in this article, no one with the surname of Francis played for Hull K.R. between 1883 and 1983.[1] I can not vouch for the book's complete authenticity, but I am not aware of a more comprehensive record of players between those years.

Cory Patterson

[edit]

The link for Cory Patterson in the squad list takes the reader to Corey Patterson an American Baseball player, so needs adjustment — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gonetofrance (talkcontribs) 20:00, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. His name is actually Cory Paterson, and this article has now been amended acoordingly. Cheers, - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 20:32, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Attendance records

[edit]

Am wondering about the attendance record section. There seems to be a few of them in there with no explanation of why it's a notable total. Why hah "Attendance Record: 11,526 vs Leeds Rhinos (Craven Park), 16 February 2014" been added RoyalBlueStuey (talk) 13:32, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Has Damian Ball played for Hull Kingston Rovers? Best regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 18:03, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Page still not being updated - why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.249.184.79 (talk) 17:13, 6 November 2019 (UTC) Page still not being updated and no one bothered shameful... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.249.184.79 (talk) 21:29, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because we do not know that is wrong with the information. If you want changes then propose the changes that are required here with appropriate reliable sources and someone will update appropriately. Keith D (talk) 12:58, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You say you don't know what needs changing - how about the fact that most of the players from last season have left... maybe if you left it open to edit by people who do know what is going on, rather than keeping it in the hands of people who don't, things could get changed and updated...
