3 million students at Barefoot College

[edit]

User:Wiredbee has posted on my talk page:

Dear RPOD: Please refrain from using the Time Magazine post on Barefoot College. Did Time verify that Barefoot College has trained 3 million people to become professionals? The author of the post "Greg Mortenson" has dubious credentials as he himself is caught in a controversy. Check his Wikipedia page to know more.Wiredbee (talk) 00:33, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

while Mortenson may have some credibility issues, they are issues that Time is clearly aware of and they have made no corrections to their bio of Roy. Without any specific reliable sources that give figures other than the 3 million in time, i see no reason to doubt our reliable source. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 02:17, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In view of the limited RS for this BLP, and considering that Roy is synonymous with Barefoot College, I am proposing that this article is merged with Barefoot College. I hope this is done in a non-controversial way so that all interested editors can achieve consensus on a single article.BlackMansBurden (talk) 05:47, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While there will likely be a lot of overlap, Roy's participation in the World Squash championships qualifies him as a stand alone article under WP:ATHLETE and the college is notable on its own. So no. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:04, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
but some or maybe a lot of the current content here under the Barefoot College section would be better placed under the Barefoot College article. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 21:18, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Awards Section

[edit]

Hi fellow Wikipedians,

I have modified the awards section, updated the year, followed by references from The Hindu News papers, removing the tag. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 06:53, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
