Assessment
[edit]I rated this article a B because it's a well-written and good overview of the topic. However, it could probably do with a few more examples and discussion outside the European/German system. Perhaps some text about ethnic or religious-bond credit unions, closed-bond CUs, etc. Some more practical examples of how the bond of association substitutes for collateral would be useful (may be a difficult concept for someone schooled only in 'traditional' business structures), as would some examples of how it facilitates microfinance, and maybe some general information on determining a bond, etc. Cyrie (talk) 14:56, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, Cyrie. These comments are constructive and helpful. I'll certainly give your questions some thought and prepare some text in the coming months, and hopefully other contributors will, too.Brett epic (talk) 16:17, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- No problem, I am glad you found the comments useful. If I come across any useful information in my travels I will try to incorporate it also (this topic is interesting to me and my upcoming work may intersect the topic somewhat) or at least post it here for others to try and incorporate. Bond of association → Common bond – Common bond already redirects to this page. The 1584 Bond of Association is distinguished from this page only by a capitalised A. Googling "Bond of Association" comes up with many more results for the document than for the banking term. KingUther (talk) 15:45, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- leaning oppose - I think the natural and common meaning of "common bond" is generally considered to be community or broadly human bonding. I'd need to see more evidence to support or offer an alternative. -- Netoholic @ 03:16, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. "Common bond" is ambiguous. I have re-targeted Common bond to Common bond (disambiguation) on discovery of incorrect incoming links. The banking jargon usage is ambiguous outside of banking. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:22, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose after disambiguating 53 links from Common bond to Common bond (bricklaying). – wbm1058 (talk) 17:42, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- Suggest the alternative common bond of association to provide better separation from the Bond of Association, per the Iowa Code, "
State credit union organization shall be available to groups of individuals who have a common bond of association such as, but not limited to, occupation, common employer, or residence within specified geographic boundaries.
" – wbm1058 (talk) 20:54, 6 June 2018 (UTC)- I also disambiguated 31 links from Common bond to Common bond of association. – wbm1058 (talk) 20:58, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
