Orphaned references in Avonmouth Docks

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Avonmouth Docks's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 10:26, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mustard gas

[edit]

The first paragraph is unclear - it goes from the Hague convention and mustard gas to smelting. In the next paragraph we’re on to mustard gas production. Could someone clarify the sequence of ideas here?

Next paragraph - ‘With the nearby No.23 Filling Factory at Chittening, plus the main plant at Banbury and a third plant at Hereford, construction of the chemical plant began at Avonmouth in 1917, but did not finish until 1923, costing £800,000.’ - non sequitur in the middle, plus what went on at Chittening and Banbury?

Electricity

[edit]

I suggest that this section should be deleted as it contains mostly inaccuracies and some irrelevant facts and the references are not relevant.

"The docks contain the Avonmouth Port Wind Farm which contains 7 wind turbines producing roughly 14MW of energy. [18] There are also numerous electricity substations[19] and tall power lines above the River Avon right next to the Avonmouth Bridge."

"Avonmouth Port Wind Farm which contains 7 wind turbines" Avonmouth Wind Farm https://www.thriverenewables.co.uk/projects/avonmouth-wind-farm/ (4 wind turbines) This is in a recycling plant outside Avonmouth Docks. Bristol Port Wind Park https://www.ecotricity.co.uk/our-green-energy/our-green-electricity/from-the-wind/wind-parks-gallery/bristol-port (3 wind turbines) This is within Avonmouth Docks. The two appear to have been added together to make the alleged "Avonmouth Port Wind Farm", but only Bristol Port Wind Park is part of Avonmouth Docks.

"14MW of energy" MW is a measure of power not energy. This figure presumably includes the 4 turbines which are not part of Avonmouth Docks.

"There are also numerous electricity substations" unsurprising, there are many roads too.

"tall power lines above the River Avon right next to the Avonmouth Bridge" These are part of the National Grid so nothing to do with Avonmouth Docks - any more than the M5 is.

[18] Reference 18 points to Open Street Map and the irrelevant recycling plant.

[19] Reference 19 doesn't go anywhere, it just says "Open Street Map".
