Confusion
[edit]There are at least 3 "notable" persons by this name, and we have the birthdays of two of them. I would hope the original creator of this page will get to work to disambiguate and improve, or remove the page. docboat 14:03, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Searching the edits, I see User:Samantha Lim88 had made an edit conflating two persons. I have reverted to the last "good" edit. docboat 14:10, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

- Comment: Expanded from 1126 (18 August) to 6336 (23 August, when almost all the expansion took place). There is an ITN nom (albeit improved a little too late; the section hadn't been updated in days when it was added), but it's recent deaths so should be fine.

- Article has been tagged "Primary sources" since August - since we're now at the end of September, I don't think it's likely to be fixed. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 23:16, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- Changed to the "?no" template, as I see that talk page discussion is ongoing. Hopefully this gets resolved soon. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 23:19, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Crisco 1492: Yes, I told the editor who added the tag that I should have the issue resolved and asked them if I can remove it per WP:BRD. ミラP@Miraclepine 23:30, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- Alrighty. I've got this nomination watchlisted, so I'll come back in a couple days and see how things are going (personally, I've always believed that interviews published in reliable sources are still fact checked, and even self-published primary sources are accepted for non-controversial things, but...) — Chris Woodrich (talk) 23:41, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- Upon checking, LeónGonsalvesofGoa (whom I'm informing of this DYK) hasn't edited in the past five days. Should I give them a few (maybe three) days before I let someone else decide on the tag or would it be more practical to skip straight to the latter? I'm leaning the latter because I want this done quickly, but I feel the former is more courteous since I asked them anyway (earlier today I might add). ミラP@Miraclepine 03:10, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, LeónGonsalvesofGoa has finally removed the tag per their talk page reply, so it's safe to say we're making great progress. ミラP@Miraclepine 03:30, 25 September 2024 (UTC)

Notability?
[edit]The majority of this article references interview material. Are there any significant references to justify its notability? LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 03:14, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- @LeónGonsalvesofGoa: There are WP:OBITUARIES (namely those that establish NACTOR notability) from RS like ANN, Crunchyroll News, IGN.com, Game Developer, Nintendo Life, Siliconera, and Tokyo Weekender, so GNG should be met. Also, most of the PL&D and career section (especially the latter's third paragraph) are sourced to said sources, as well as news sources in general. While the EL&C section is mostly WP:INTERVIEWS, they are still in quality news sources and about the subject herself by the subject herself, so I think it should be fine content-wise. ミラP@Miraclepine 15:55, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oh, and so with this and the fact that I added secondary sources after the tag was added, I'm removing the tag. ミラP@Miraclepine 16:21, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- My reply was delayed due to feeling unwell. However, I had the chance to review the policies you referenced and moved the tag to the appropriate section. According to WP:INTERVIEWS, this woman is discussing herself (i.e., non-independent). Are you familiar with the outlets that published the interview? LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 16:19, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- @LeónGonsalvesofGoa: Mebuku is a newsmagazine based in Maebashi, and the interview has a short bio of Tanaka. Original News is a section of Niconico News which produces original content, including interviews like Tanaka's, and Niconico News is in turn cited by ANN and SoraNews24 (which seems reliable per this AFD comment). If it helps, both were done by journalists affiliated with the sites (the latter almost certainly; there's no interviewer name, though such isn't uncommon in Japan). So, yes, I don't think this is a situation where having most of the section based on interviews would be problematic. ミラP@Miraclepine 18:23, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- @LeónGonsalvesofGoa: Sorry this was late since I got busy and almost forgot but per WP:BRD, i have to ask you: am I good to remove the tag? ミラP@Miraclepine 17:33, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- My apologies for the delayed response. Your explanations have clarified the issue in question. I’ve removed the tag. LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 03:18, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
