I found something odd in the article:

"Commander-in-Chief of the British forces, General William Howe, had ordered his forces to abandon Boston and make way to New York before winter. Due to the large amount of time it took to cross the Atlantic, Howe did not receive the news until winter had already come."

Howe didn't find out his own news before winter? I think I know what is meant by the article, but it doens't make sense. -- VGF11 23:28, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Both branches of Parliament, the House of Lords and the House of Commons, vote for the use of force to rekindle the American uprising." "Rekindle?" Shouldn't it be "put down" or a similar word/phrase? Mysterius 06:24, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Omission of maps?

[edit]

Somebody added that the book did not have relevant maps. I seem to remember seeing a few, but since I haven't looked at it since the summer, I can't say for certain. I would verify this, but my copy's currnetly in storage due to renovation, so I really don't have a simple way to check.  — AnnaKucsma   (Talk to me!) 21:49, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:9773272.jpg

[edit]

Image:9773272.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 02:15, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
