Taipei University of Marine Technology (TUMT; Chinese: 台北海洋科技大學; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tâi-pak Hái-iûⁿ Kho-ki Tāi-ha̍k) is a private technological university located in Taiwan.[1]

TUMT offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Port and Shipping Management, and other related fields. TUMT also offers doctoral programs in Marine Technology, Marine Engineering, and Marine Science.

History

Taipei University of Marine Technology is a vocational technology oriented institute aiming at cultivating technical professional in the fields of maritime and commerce. The university adopted “Justice, Honesty, Diligence, Courage, Persistency” as the university motto, “Professionalism, Loyalty, Diligence, Persistency, Servicing as the university philosophy, and the vision of cultivating distinguished professionals emphasizing the balance of theory and practice, both technology and ethics, reality, innovation, servicing, and LOHAS (life styles of health and sustainability). Furthermore, the university continues to upgrade its vision of being a more professional, innovated and, excellent institute.[2] [3]

TUMT has two campuses. One is located at Shilin District, Taipei and the other is at Tamsui District in New Taipei.

Education Environment

To advocate versatile sport for students and people in the community, the university constructed a multifunctional stadium. A 24-hour constant temperature indoor swimming pool with 8 lines was on the first floor. A multifunctional in-door field for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and other activities was on the second floor. There is also a fitness center for students and the community, the intent was to advocate sport and healthy and quality life style and habit. The overall space is 3,572 square meters in stadium.
