Operator:xenocidic (talk)

Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic (supervised)

Programming Language(s): AWB

Function Summary: Template substitution in the User talk: namespace, updating userbox transclusions

Edit period(s) (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): No more than once per day

Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y

Function Details: The bot will substitute templates that are improperly transcluded on user talk pages. The list of such templates is found here. This will be done daily, or perhaps a few times a week (as required). Here is an example of such edits. While on the subject of find & replace, I would also like to use it to occasionally update transclusions of userboxen (example).

Trial  Done. For the first task (template substitution) here's 22 edits. There would've been more but another bot beat me to job list that I compiled this morning. Note the first four edits were problematic because AWB seemed to mistakenly identify some code as trancluding the {{subst}} template - so I removed that template from the list. For the second task, here's 20 edits. No issues were encountered. –xenocidic (talk) 23:50, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here's 8 more template substitution edits. –xenocidic (talk) 13:36, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've just gone through about 125 transclusions under my username, to refine the method a bit, clean out some really old transclusions, and see what kind of false positives the bot might pick up. Should be good to go now. –xenocidic (talk) 15:18, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
