VisitEngland.com provides ideas on where to go and what to do for weekend breaks and holiday ideas across England. The website acts as an inspirational springboard for users to find out more indepth information on accommodation and activities from a wide range of partner websites.
VisitEngland's mission is: "to grow the value of the domestic tourism market by encouraging people to spend more on tourism throughout the English regions, throughout the year. Learn more about VisitEngland http://www.visitengland.org/about/ Visit England - About Us.
VisitEngland (prior to 1999 the English Tourist Board and between 1999 and 2009 English Tourism Council) is the official tourist board for England. In 2003, VisitEngland was merged with the British Tourist Authority to form VisitBritain.
In April 2009, VisitEngland was re-launched as a separate corporate body, no longer part of VisitBritain.[1]
English Tourist Board Awards
The English Tourist Board has an award of quality, given to holiday accommodation. The "Enjoy England Quality Rose" is given to hotel, bed and breakfast, holiday cottages and other holiday accommodation.
