Grammys 2014

Headline: "Grammy predictions 2014: Who will win? Who should win?"

"BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM Nominees: Paradise, Lana Del Rey; Pure Heroine, Lorde; Unorthodox Jukebox, Bruno Mars; Blurred Lines, Robin Thicke; The 20/20 Experience — The Complete Experience, Justin Timberlake. Who Will Win: This is gonna boil down to a Mars vs. Timberlake battle, methinks, but Timbo should prevail on the strength of sheer audacity — two albums and 140 minutes' worth of epic R&B jams — and the fact that he's the biggest-selling artist of 2014. Who Should Win: Timberlake. There's a lot of fat to trim on the two 20/20 discs but he's had a monster comeback year." — To watch, FYI, Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 16:02, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, to close the loop: [1] "Mars’ Unorthodox Jukebox was named pop vocal album of the year, topping efforts from Robin Thicke, Timberlake, Lorde and Lana Del Rey and giving the R&B star an emotional boost after major tragedy in his life last year." Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 06:00, 27 January 2014 (UTC) So Timberlake's musical comeback did not trump Mars' comeback from "major tragedy". Justin Timberlake won with some other artists, but his album didn't, FYI.[reply]

Here's what Justin Timberlake did win [2] at Grammys 2014:

  • Rap/sung collaboration: "Holy Grail," Jay Z with Justin Timberlake
  • R&B song: "Pusher Love Girl," James Fauntleroy, Jerome Harmon, Timothy Mosley and Justin Timberlake

I'm sure someone (like you) will put this in the table of his recognition awards. Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 06:10, 27 January 2014 (UTC) FYI, there were 82 categories.[reply]

This should say that Justin Timberlake is on of the nicest people you will ever meet. Rjvollert (talk) 00:17, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done that would go against WP:NPOV. It would be better to perhaps quote someone calling him that, but not in a simple no-context way. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 00:35, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done including a statement like that would not be encyclopaedic. It would be more appropriate to quote someone who talks about his appeal and source that, though. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 04:02, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Singer-Songwriter? Or Singer AND Songwriter?

Can I get a clear definition of Singer-songwriter, because if singer-songwriter is one who composes, writes, and sings, then Timberlake applies. --Joseph Prasad (talk) 04:04, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There is an ongoing discussion about this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Music#RfC: How should music BLPs approach the term "singer-songwriter"?, and so far it seems that consensus is that singer-songwriter only applies to folk/acoustic singers such as James Taylor and Joni Mitchell who write, compose, and perform their own material. President of pop

I'm surprised I didn't found nothing about it here Cornerstonepicker (talk) 02:01, 29 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What sources call him such? Snuggums (talk / edits) 03:58, 29 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

and this is something different http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/justin-timberlake-the-new-king-of-pop-20031225 Cornerstonepicker (talk) 07:11, 29 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Intro

"following the disbandment of the group" instead of "During the group's hiatus" (?) because it wasn't a hiatus. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 20:21, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Occupations

The user McQueen.30 keeps adding occupations to the infobox despite JasonAQuest's rationale that "simplify to major occupations, not everything he's done". Discuss here why occupations should/shouldn't be listed. Also pinging IPadPerson who has reverted McQueen. Snuggums (talk / edits) 19:47, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
