Ramisha Sattar (born September 18, 1999)[1] is a visual artist and animator best known for her work as creative director for singer-songwriter Chappell Roan.[2][3] She is also the director of design for astrologer Chani Nicholas's application CHANI.[4]

Early and personal life

Sattar was born and raised in rural Nebraska, and her family moved to Dallas, Texas during her sophomore year of high school. She is currently based in Los Angeles.[5]

Career

Sattar graduated from University of Texas at Dallas in 2021 with a Bachelors of the Arts in Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication.[6] She began working for CHANI in December 2020. In March 2022, she became creative director for Chappell Roan.[3]

2022–present: Work with Chappell Roan

Sattar, who Roan calls her "bff", began working with the artist in March 2022. She was the wardrobe assistant for the music video of Roan's 2022 single "My Kink is Karma".[7] In September 2022, the two made a joint Twitter account.[8]

She served as the creative director for the "Magician's Cut" video of Roan's 2023 single "Red Wine Supernova".[9] She and Roan designed the packaging for Roan's 2023 debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.[10] She also designed the packaging for the vinyl of Roan's 2024 single "Good Luck, Babe!"[11]

When Roan toured in 2024, Sattar was the animator for her stage visuals at festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza and the Governors Ball Music Festival.[12]

“She is just as much Chappell Roan as I am, honestly,” Roan wrote in an email to CNN. “She is Chappell Roan too.”[13]
