In 2008, The Crystal Method remixed the song, using samples of a Barack Obama speech in celebration of the upcoming election. The remixed song is called officially, "Now is the Time (Vote '08 Remix)". It was released off of The Crystal Method's website for free, and can be found on the band's Myspace profile also. The Crystal Method played the remix during their end of the year DJ set tour around the United States in 2008.

In an interview in early 2009, The Crystal Method were asked if the remix would appear on their upcoming album, Divided by Night. They replied, "Maybe, just as a bonus track,", though it has been confirmed by the track listing released in mid-February 2009 that it would not appear on the album.
