'London Betty' is a 2010 comedy adventure directed and written by Thomas Edward Seymour (Land of College Prophets and The Bikini Bloodbath series). Currently, London Betty is being geared up for commercial release and is circulating within numerous festivals throughout the United States. Nicole Lewis, in the title role of London Betty, has appeared on “Late Night with David Letterman”, “The Tonight Show” with Conan O’Brien and “Good Morning America” for her Tony Award Winning performance in Broadway’s Musical "Hair." London Betty is an action packed comedy with narration by cult movie favorite Clint Howard, including supporting performances by Sheri Lynn, and Playboy model Rachael Robbins. The film will be released on DVD in the United States by Maverick Entertainment Group.
Plot
London Betty introduces Broadway actress Nicole Lewis ("Hair," 2009 Tony Award winning revival, "Rent," and "Lennon") in the title role as the plucky British journalist who gets a newspaper job in the small American town of Pharisee. But trying to get an audience with her elusive, agoraphobic publisher (Daniel von Bargen, Super Troopers, “Malcolm in the Middle”) is only part of her problem. Her first story requires the toppling of the corrupt and perverted administration run by Mayor Plumb (Dick Boland, “Broken”) and his band of off-kilter hoodlums. However, Betty has unlikely allies to help her bring down the mayor: a pair of petty thieves (Seymour and Russ Russo) a golden-hearted prostitute (New York comedian Margaret Rose Champagne) and a transvestite ex-Marine hitman (Phil Hall, VH-1’s "BSTV") London Betty offers a unique mixture of comedy, romance, and adventure.[1]
