Historic landmark status

Golem, I was at the ceremony Monday where the Castle was designated a historic landmark and placed in the state registry. I am working on a paragraph or two about it but I will have to post it here in a couple of days, work is killing me.Marylandstate 02:07, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

I am honored to have been invited to join this project, I did not realize how organized all this is. I now feel somewhat embarrassed that I just barged in and added information without going through the vetting process first. Baltimore City College WikiProject Organization

The creation of this project was intended as a way to organize those who regularly edit information about City and coordinate their efforts. However, in general, editors still seem to be functioning as individual units instead of collaborating with one another.

Therefore, I would like to propose a modofication to the way people have been operating. The number of participants in the project now stands at 6. I feel that we should split up into two groups of three with each group working on a specific task. The two main tasks that I think we are involved in now are the creation of pages and the improvement. This way we will essentially have a group of writers and a group of editors.

These categories will not be restrictive, i.e., people will not be forced to just create new articles or just edit existing ones however, these roles should serve as a guideline. Golem88991 13:41, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

General question about Baltimore

Since there is no Baltimore WikiProject I'm asking this here. Does anybody know when the original North Avenue Bridge over Jones Falls opened? I know it was rebuilt in the 1890s, but there was an earlier one. Thank you. --NE2 21:54, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Baltimore City College Speech and Debate

I propose a new article, called "Baltimore City College Speech and Debate" consisting of what is currently called City College forensics on the Baltimore City College page. It is now big enough to have its own page like the alumni page and it is the one part of the City page that keeps growing. The new title also reflects how the debate teams are referred to at the school. Any comments?67knight 23:42, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Collaboration

The purpose of the Wikiproject was to coordinate efforts on City College related artciles, yet it seems to have failed miserably in that goal. At the end of the day, the project consists of six editors, who are doing their own things. I am guilty of it just as much as the next guy, but if this wikiproject is going to work, then editors need to be willing to give up a little autonomy in order to improve the coverage of city. I think several recent events have highlighted how fractured this project really is. My calls for assistance have fallen on deaf ears time and again, and the project seems to rarely work on consensus. If it would be any help, I'd be glad to add a link to this project from WikiProject Maryland. If interest in this project can be boosted, then it will help editors better improve articles that fall under it. After all, the more people working on the project, the easier it is on the individual members. I think we want to avoid making too large a list as many especially the less notable admissions will be ignored by most readers anyway.I think the more appropriate way of listing the state delegates and senators as well as the Maryland judiciary is to simply list the numbers who graduated from City, as it appears that we are developing a list far too massive and one certainly deserving of its own page. For example Maryland State Delegates- 125, Maryland State Senators- 10 --Bcc07 01:26, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

So you are saying make a separate page for all notable alumni but leave a re-direct for it on the Baltimore City College page? It is consistent with some of the larger high schools around the country (see New Trier High School). Changes to the WP:1.0 assessment scheme

As you may have heard, we at the Wikipedia 1.0 Editorial Team recently made some changes to the assessment scale, including the addition of a new level. The new description is available at WP:ASSESS.

• The new C-Class represents articles that are beyond the basic Start-Class, but which need additional references or cleanup to meet the standards for B-Class.
• The criteria for B-Class have been tightened up with the addition of a rubric, and are now more in line with the stricter standards already used at some projects.
• A-Class article reviews will now need more than one person, as described here.

Each WikiProject should already have a new C-Class category at Category:C-Class_articles. If your project elects not to use the new level, you can simply delete your WikiProject's C-Class category and clarify any amendments on your project's assessment/discussion pages. The bot is already finding and listing C-Class articles.

Coordinators' working group
