Suspected sockpuppets

You'll primarily need to review deleted contributions, especially surrounding Bollywood Xplorer. Behaviourally virtually identical. Both have been blocked as socks, however, unblock request for User:CrazyAboutBollywood claims otherwise. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:44, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've just added Juliewatson above, came back to carry out the speedy tagging on the article once CrazyAboutBollywood was blocked, all three accounts appear to be promoting bollywood blogs/sites and it appears they don't like that BollywoodHungama has an article. It could also be a case of meatpuppetry. —SpacemanSpiff 12:03, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator note I started investigating these acounts, and keeping a list of the evidence I found. After a while, I gave up listing the evidence, because there was just too much of it. The evidence also linked all of the accounts listed to another group of accounts, already blocked for sockpuppetry, namely:

Here are a few samples of the evidence connecting the accounts listed for this SPI to one another and to Vinujadhav and his already established sockpuppets. (I am not even attempting to list other evidence which already linked the Vinujadhav socks to one another.)

  • Spamming/linking to/editing related to moviezadda.com:

Harshal8feb [20]
Saddaadda [21]
Vinujadhav [22]
Harshal8feb [23], [24]
Lisadezzy [25]
CrazyAboutBollywood [26]
Juliewatson [27], [28]
Amanrajveer [29]
  • Editing articles created by Vinujadhav:
Raghav Juyal has been edited by Lisadezzy, FilmyGuy, and 2Vinja.
ABCD: Anybody Can Dance has been edited by Juliewatson and 2Vinja.

Some of these are unambiguous sockpuppets, while some look as if they may well be meatpuppets, but it doesn't matter: all accounts are blocked indefinitely, and tagged. However, in view of the number of accounts involved, a checkuser for any sleepers might be useful. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:41, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator note Thanks. I thought myself that the behavioural evidence linking CrazyAboutBollywood and Amanrajveer to the others was weaker than that within the two groups, so if the checkuser evidence points the same way then I am willing to think we have two sockpuppeteers. I will change the tags on those two accounts, and consider whether their blocks should be shortened or not. JamesBWatson (talk) 18:59, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It seems likely that the two groups are two users linked by meatpuppetry. However, it is just possible that they are two separate sockpuppeteers, so I have given Amanrajveer the benefit of the doubt and reduced the block length to three days from when it started. All finished, and ready for archiving. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:13, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
