As there is neither List of male classical conductors nor a more general List of classical conductors, the merits of having this article are at least questinable. In its current shape, it is utterly useless. Even if it was expanded, the list would be unmaintainable, because there are no clear inclusion/exclusion criteria: The term "classical conductor" is not well defined, and not every member of this group is noteworthy. To sum it up, Category:Women conductors (music) is sufficient. FoxyOrange (talk) 20:31, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep and expand. At first glance, I'd say delete, as a list of two entries is not a list. However, the category Category:Women conductors (music) has many entries and that can be used to expand this list (maybe into a table with other info, country, when they were active, etc). The inclusion criteria is clear - any female conductor who is notable. And the argurement for deletion because of the category existing fails WP:CLN. - Keep per Lugnuts. Marin Alsop was in the news recently as being the first female conductor of the Last Night of the Proms. Martin451 12:25, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Withdrawn by nominator. There is no valid reason for deletion, I should have made myself more familiar with WP:CLN. Thanks to User:Lugnuts for telling me.--FoxyOrange (talk) 12:34, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
