The result was The result was keep, per clear consensus. There's no need to have this AFD open. (non-admin closure) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:07, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

Does not Pass GNG as per WP:SOLDIER. The award of "Hero of Russian Federation" does not give much in the line of notability on its own as it is awarded to lots of people (more than 900 recipients). FreeatlastChitchat (talk) 16:06, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
- Keep - a cursory search gives authoritative sources including CNN, TASS (the Russian equivalent of AFP), The Independent, The Independent again, PRI, among others (and those are just the English language sources - I'm sure there is a much larger selection of Russian sources but I've also found coverage in quite a few respected sources in other languages as well). WP:SOLDIER is distinct from GNG - GNG only requires significant coverage in sources, which is satisfied here. Furthermore, the first line of WP:SOLDIER says that winning "their nation's highest award for valour" automatically qualifies, which is the case here. Simply being awarded 900 times over more than 20 years doesn't dilute that; the Medal of Honor has been awarded over 3,000 times and the Victoria Cross over 1,300 times. - Keep: It's clearly another clue showing how blatantly FreeatlastChitchat is hounding me! What an awkward nomination! Does not Pass GNG as per WP:SOLDIER (do you know the difference of GNG and subject specific criteria?)! Please read the related guide line and policy pages. There are many sources regarding the subject, as already used in the article. --Mhhossein (talk) 17:27, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
- Keep Closing administrator must block the nominator for disruptive editing. The editor is quite experienced to know this is what we need to find to prove notability. We can't allow any editor to waste the time of the community to support his personal hatred against Mhhossein. It's crystal clear that he was checking the contributions of Mhossein and decided to harass him. This is going on for a very long time. 2A03:4A80:7:41A:2E72:4D08:31BE:AD0 (talk) 17:44, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
- Keep - Per the sources found by Intelligentsium. WP:GNG appears to be met, as well as WP:SOLDIER. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 17:47, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
- Keep I dunno much about Wikipedia's Policies. I created the page because he deserves it. 00:00, 02 May 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muvindu Perera (talk • contribs)
- @Muvindu Perera: Hi, I am sorry you had to face this in Wikipedia. FreeatlastChitchat nominated this article for AFD, as he was wikihounding another user Mhhossein. Mhhossein edited this page, which tempted this disruptive user to nominate this. You became the collateral victim here. I hope this won't discourage you from editing Wikipedia. And as you can see all other users are voting Keep. FreeatlastChitchat must be getting very disappointed with the Keep votes, but he is also getting over-confidence to engage in further Wikihounding. --2A03:4A80:7:441:18E2:F767:90AA:CC6F (talk) 01:04, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
- Keep Although he is notable for a single incident, Hero of the Russian Federation is asserted as a top title, comparable to other high honours which tend to be considered automatic notability. The corresponding Russian Wikipedia article has not been tagged for any concerns and it features numerous additional references (mostly Russian) to consider. Dl2000 (talk) 18:58, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
- Keep Yeah. It's disappointing. How long does it take to get the final decision in a AFD case? Muvindu Perera (talk) 07:33, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
