File permission problem with File:EDungan.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:EDungan.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 09:12, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

The OTRS for this has apparently not been received, as there was no OTRS ticket number on the image. If it does clear OTRS in the future, an admin with OTRS access will be able to restore the image. Skier Dude (talk 01:10, 31 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
I reckon there should be some kinda back log in this. You might be able to appreciate the fact that it is frustrating to see that after making all the efforts to acquire permission from authorities and uploading them on wikipedia they get easily deleted. Of late this OTRS issue has been putting me off really bad. I honestly don't intend to make this sound rude, but the current system at the OTRS is grossly unfriendly. Anyways, there is nothing more I can do other than forwarding the email again to the OTRS. I reckon that it is now the responsibility of people involved in the whole process to make sure that they are not putting off people from this project by penalising others for the backlogs in their system. Thanks. It is probably better to get this file deleted as the person who released the permission on email at the time of the upload is no longer responding and OTRS is currently requesting more specific wording which the original email does not have. Fair use rationale for File:AIADMK Two Leaves.png

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:AIADMK Two Leaves.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Dravidian parties

edit

A tag has been placed on Template:Dravidian parties requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it must be substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Bulwersator (talk) 09:14, 14 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

High Beam Research

edit

HighBeam Research is an online, paid search engine for newspapers, magazines, academic journals, newswires, trade magazines and encyclopedias. The site has access to over 80 million articles from 6,500 publications, most of which are not available for free elsewhere on the internet. Thousands of new articles are added daily, archives date back over 25 years including trade journal, newspaper articles, and peer-reviewed journals covering a wide range of subjects and industries; and there are tools for finding, saving, organizing, and sharing information as documents. Aside from a free 7-day trial (credit card required), access to HighBeam costs $30 per month or $200 per year for the first year and $300 for subsequent years.

As of March 13, 2012 HighBeam has generously agreed to give free, full-access 1-year accounts for Wikipedia editors to use, at the discretion of the community. HighBeam is excited about this and does not expect there to be a shortage of these free, 1-year accounts; however, editors will have to have a 1 year-old account and 1000 edits in order to qualify for one. At the end of 1 year, editors who found the resource useful can simply re-apply.

I'd really like it if you applied for this:
