One year anniversary
editHello there again, send you this as something to think by:
The Press Barnstar | ||
Coming towards a year and still working hard even when COVID-19 strikes! Happy (early) 1st anniversary since you joined Wikipedia! Sculture65 (talk) 09:37, 24 April 2020 (UTC) |
Oh, and I made a proposal to add on this article, but I leave you to decide if you want to. The template look like this:
Singapore
editOn 7 February, the government announced that the framework scheme Disease Outbreak Response System Condition (DORSCON) was to be raised to Orange[1], while Suria held a live concert special celebrating the channel's 20th Anniversary, which was the last live program to use the live audience[2], among which President of Singapore Halimah Yacob was ushered as guest-of-honor[3]. The last three episodes of the 26th season of another live-broadcast Channel 8 game show, The Sheng Siong Show (with the first episode airing a day after on the 8th), began suspending their studio audience, though contestants are still invited on-stage for studio segments including the Thousandfold Cash Reward[4]; previously live-broadcast programs airing at the time such as Te:Ra Seh 4.0 and Sinar Lebaran 2020, also followed suit and continued production without live audience[5].
After Singapore enforced its lockdown measures on 7 April until 1 June, Suria and Vasantham both began their broadcast earlier at 9am starting 8 April, and new local shows featuring celebrities premiered on morning and afternoon timeslots on the 9th[6][7]. However, some reruns on the afternoon were pre-empt on certain days to broadcast update messages delivered by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. On 12 April, Channel 5 brought the airing for the 2019 film Spider-Man: Far From Home in an earlier timing as opposed to the intended 2-3 years gap as other films recently aired[8]. Prior to the lockdown, medical-themed dramas Big White Duel and Guardian Angel were premiered as 7.30pm and 9pm dramas on Channel 8 respectively to raise awareness.
Many other Singaporean shows also have postponed production or broadcast at a later date, such as the annual Star Awards ceremony (which was initially held on 26 April) ending a trend on being held on April for the first time since the 2007 ceremony[9]. On 21 April, Mediacorp confirmed that news coverage were the mostly watched since March and specifically the start of lockdown, at about 2.8 to 3.2 million viewers across Singapore[10]
What do you think? Well I had been busy but I did promised to help. And since that you one-year anniversary is on this Sunday, I have came out on new projects in store for you to work on while COVID-19 is at bay (note that the titles are just based on suggestion, but I leave it to you):
- 2011 Singapore MRT disruption and 2015 Singapore MRT disruption - Heard that you also interested in transportation topics, but I think it would be suggestible to work on a separate article and it is a major topic.
- Aljunied-Hougang Town Council funding controversy - basically a round-up events of WP and involvement over the AHTC since its formation in 2011 as an aftermath of the 2011 Singaporean general election.
- Li Ho - Singaporean drink-based F&B retail chain (note: you may need to remove the redirect first)
- List of annual events in Singapore - It would be appropriate to list all annual events (television events do not cover here, FYI) rather than repeating or mentioning the first instance of the annual event on each "Years of Singapore" article.
- Singapore Comic Con
- Wok Hey - Singapore wok-based F&B retail store
Until then, feel free at home and let's stay united. Take care. Sculture65 (talk) 09:37, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- That part on the COVID article is to be inserted where? In the Asia pandemic or the part in SG? Kinda confused. Anyway, thanks for the compliment. TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 09:58, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- (Update): Found it. Thanks. TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 09:59, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, this is supposed to be placed on the Impact of the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic on television article here, not on Singapore. No worries, if you already added, you can take out but put on that article instead; that one was TV-impacted events. Sculture65 (talk) 10:35, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- Sure. I will do so. TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 10:38, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. And are you gonna do the new projects anytime? Sculture65 (talk) 10:42, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- I might, but I may not have the required knowledge for topics like the Comic Con and Wok Hey. I would be able to do the AHTC and the MRT disruptions instead, with help from fellow contributors. Thanks. TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 10:56, 24 April 2020 (UTC)
- I have added impacts with some edits for readability. Thanks. TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 11:08, 24 April 2020 (UTC)

Ah Girl Go Army
editdidn't watch the movie... but is the character really named as such (Special:Diff/1071164963)? – robertsky (talk) 06:28, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- To be honest, when I watched it, yes, but its not even the "real name". In one of the training scenes, yes, it was introduced as such. Is it advisable to convert the synopsis to a plot? TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 07:15, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- oh well... on plot, you can if you want to, as long as it doesn't goes afoul of MOS:PLOT. There will be people (like me) not watching this movie or his movies anyway (the last one was the original ABTM). – robertsky (talk) 10:46, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification. I'll see how best to structure it. TheGreatSG'rean (talk) 08:55, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research
editHello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
