A quick note
editI'm RatedR, after the Queens of the Stone Age Album. I am an averagely experienced wikipedian and hope to revert all vandalism as much as I can, adding things where they are appropriate.
License tagging for Image:Got rabbit copy(permission).jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Got rabbit copy(permission).jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:08, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Taken care of, thanks
editGot the image copyrighted, thank goodness.

Notability of Green Andy
editA tag has been placed on Green Andy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 15:17, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Rather than post an incomplete article, write the article first before you post it. Make sure you include reliable sources showing how this band meets the notability standards of WP:MUSIC, or your article will probably be deleted again. NawlinWiki 15:27, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
One editor's opinion:
- 1) I'm not an admin, so I do not do the deletions--I only flag articles for the attention of those who do. I've been overruled before, but not often. Personally, at this stage, I don't want the ability to delete articles--I want someone checking on my judgement.
- 2) I'm not psychic. A judgement on these things can only be based on what's there, not what's going to be there. If you're still adding material, that's what the
{{hangon}}
tag is for. I do keep an eye on these things, and I do remove speedy-deletion tags if the article no longer merits one. - 3) That said, your article didn't look promising. Dozens of articles per day about so-called "up-and-coming" musicians/bands get deleted here every day. This is an encyclopedia, not an indiscriminate collection of Myspace pages for every band in the world. The standard is clear: "Up-and-coming" isn't good enough. If a band has arrived, someone else will write the article. Take care. --Finngall talk 15:39, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

editIn answer to your contribution to Nawlin Wiki's talk page on 29th March 2007, you sholud leave a message on my talk page. If you want, you can take a look at my page, then answer for yourself on the talk page under 'put here if you think i'm being reasonable'. I Will get to everybody who dislikes Nawlin, i liked your contribution though, and i agree with you.Cominoverdahill2 15:33, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Cominoverdahill2
edityour message was this:
Well, excuse you. Why, sir did you delete an article that I spent ONE HOUR OF MY PRECIOUS TIME CREATING??? I PUT THE HANG ON TAG ON THERE FOR A REASON!!! I WAS STILL EDITING. THIS IS NOT A VERY KIND THING TO DO AS I AM NOW EXTREMELEY AGITATED AND ANGRY AT YOU. Please try to be a little nicer. Get back to me on this IMMEDIATLEY. Your impolite antics are making me quite mad. I want to create this article for an artist, who would LIKE to be SHOWN TO THE GREATER BODY OF PEOPLE! DO YOU OR DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND, MR. NWLIN? Please, make me change my feelings about you. I don't care how many barnstars of dillegence you have gotten, but you are extremley harsh. I am your father. 15:31, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
He's still not notable. --Finngall talk 23:03, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- The notability guidelines for musicians and bands are here. Can you come up with reliable, independent references and sources, i.e. other than from Andy's own web sites? --Finngall talk 23:08, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- If you've got sources and other contributors, excellent. The article is off my watchlist and I'll move on to other things. Thanks for continuing to improve the article.
- I wouldn't say I'm "popular", but I've kept busy and made positive contributions, and if people notice that, cool, but I'm not in it for the praise. (and not all of the praise is unbiased--my sister is an avid contributor and respected editor here as well) As far as the number of entries on my talk page goes, a lot of it is a natural outgrowth of my work patrolling the new page list and speedy-tagging the vandalism, the vanity articles, the spam, the nonsense, the "my classmate is a doodoohead and is gay" articles, and the self-promotional articles for every "up and coming" crappy high school band on four continents (or so it seems). When you do stuff like that, you're inevitably going to get people coming back to you saying "Wah! You deleted my article!", or worse, as evidenced by the number of times my user page has been vandalized. Take care. --Finngall talk 16:06, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- I notice that someone added the "Notability" tag on the article. You better find two reliable sources independent of the artist ASAP or there is a good chance this article will be deleted. I don't know enough about the artist to make a stand to support the article. Royalbroil 02:43, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Re: Please Reblock
editUnfortunately, I cannot reapply the block until they have further violated Wikipedia's policies. Do not forget that this is an IP address and a block on this address prevents any editor on this IP from editing. If this IP continues to vandalize after the block has expired, they will be reblocked but not until then.↔NMajdan•talk 17:20, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

the above(vandalism since removed) says all we need to hear - I'll be warning the talk page of the IP posting the above momentarily (same person?), which will probably justify a block from someone. Nihiltres(t.c.s) 11:33, 15 May 2007 (UTC) (updated 12:35, 15 May 2007 (UTC))

Green Andy
editWelcome to Wikipedia. It would be appreciated if you would not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Green Andy. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. --Geniac 01:51, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- AfD debates last 5 days; it is unlikely the article will be deleted before then. If you have good reasons why it shouldn't be deleted, you should give them at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Green Andy. --Geniac 03:10, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- The proper place to discuss this is deletion is here. You need to present your full case NOW or it will be deleted. The burden of proof is on YOU if you want it kept. So far no one sees enough reliable sources to want to keep the article. Royalbroil 13:14, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I noticed you left this message on User:Mikkalai's talk page. Did you have any specific dispute with him? User talk:Omnifish
editCould you explain your posts to User talk:Omnifish, please? You warned them for "Persistent Vandalism" and then impersonated another user to warn them about vandalizing your talk page. The only edits made by that user have been to their own user page and talk page. --Geniac 13:40, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know what you mean by "someone must have been pretty mad, and used my name and that of Nihiltres". In this edit, you warned Omnifish about "Persistent Vandalism". In this edit, you warned Omnifish about vandalizing your talk page and signed as Nihiltres. You made those edits, not somebody else. --Geniac 16:29, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- You did make those edits and I honestly have no idea what kind of person you are. Yes, it should be ok to delete the content in question. --Geniac 17:16, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- I think this discussion should either be stopped at this point, as I have nothing more to add, or should be taken to another page. --Stealthrabbit talk 17:19, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Edit reversion
editI reviewed the edit you reverted by anonymous User:66.173.166.193. Although a person from this IP address did previous vandalize this page, that does not justify automatically reverting every edit from that IP address. The edit that you reverted was appropriate, and I have restored it. I have suggested to the user that he or she create their own login to avoid confusion in the future. Please take care when reverting edits from anonymous users in the future. Thank you,

Your userpage has been vandalized (again)
editJust wanted to warn you. MrMacMan Talk 03:26, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hi there. As regards your userpage, is this a continual problem? I'll semi-protect it for a couple weeks, but that won't make much difference to a motivated vandal - and I get the impression from looking through the history that these vandals are people known to you in real life, something which makes things more interesting in terms of motivation. If you can, ask them to stop, because otherwise they'll be blocked. I see that NextZ has already been indefinitely blocked, and I'm merely hesistant at the moment to indefinitely block Hargon10 (I'm still not quite quite trusting of the banhammer). If he/she or another user vandalizes your page again, let me know and I'll help out as much as I'm allowed to - my userpage was once similarly vandalized, and I understand your frustration. Nihiltres(t.c.s) 17:16, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. Until the semi-protection wears off automatically in two weeks, if you want it completely unprotected just ask. Nihiltres(t.c.s) 17:21, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Wikiproject Led Zeppelin
editA "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Wikiproject Led Zeppelin, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Coren 03:24, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
You probably should read Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide, where the correct way to go about starting a WikiProject can be found. Good luck! Coren 03:25, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hey! My pleasure. It was obvious you had a good idea but just didn't know which way to go about doing it. :-) You might want to go replace the contents of Wikiproject Led Zeppelin with

Please look again at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zona Norte, now that the article has been rewritten
editHello Stealthrabbit127. I believe you nominated Zona Norte for deletion on 15 June, though your name does not appear in the discussion. Your doubts about the original article were well-taken. Since then, on 22 June, Arkyan did a complete rewrite. Please visit the above AfD discussion and see if you still maintain your original opinion, since in my view Arkyan has completely addressed the problems. Thanks, EdJohnston 17:13, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Quote Removed
editI have most definitely heard the song, it's one of my favorites of the band! I removed the quote not because the source was bad, but because I didn't think it was intellegent. The same facts could be presented without using a quote, without profanity. There's no reason to use language in an article unless you absolutely have to. So feel free to add the facts if you wish, but I don't think a quote with profanity is necessary. If you disagree, it's not my article, so go ahead and revert it if that floats your boat. Thanks for writing about this; you truly care about writing an article correctly, a trait some other editors should share! Liscobeck (talk) 03:53, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of A Brief History of the Empire
editA Brief History of the Empire, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that A Brief History of the Empire satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/A Brief History of the Empire and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of A Brief History of the Empire during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Goals on Wikipedia
editWell the best place to start is "what are you interested in?" In terms of article building, there are various wikiprojects that you can join for your interests, such as the Final Fantasy, Video Game, Hurricane, and other Wikiprojects, where likeminded people can improve and slim their respective topics. Also, it seems you are very interested in stopping vandalism, so article patrol would be a great place to sign up with, and after a little while of good editing, you can start using the Auto Wiki Browser (AWB), which makes monitoring article changes much easier.
Also, I highly recommend, when you get a bit more experienced, to start using WP:POPUPS and WP:TWINKLE which, like AWB, makes editing go much faster.
Finally, to be an admin, be very helpful, never snap at people, give WP:BARNSTARS to people who deserve them, and after a while of doing this kind of stuff, there is a process where you can basically train to be an admin and that should take you the rest of the way.
Beyond that, dream big as to what you want to accomplish, and start making your first steps toward them. If you have any questions about what I've said or anything else, let me know :) Good luck! Judgesurreal777 (talk) 03:47, 7 December 2007 (UTC) Judgesurreal777 (talk) 03:47, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- My first piece of advice would be to start sourcing your articles to reliable references. I haven't looked at your contributions but I'm noticing that you don't seem to add any. You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire lacks references, for example.
- Read Wikipedia:Verifiability, if you haven't. For formatting advice see Wikipedia:Citing sources.
- My other thought is behavioural. When you run into trouble of the sort you have with this Omnifish fellow the best course of action is to ignore it. Do not go to the sockpuppet's talk pages; do not take the bait. Go to an admin's talk page and ask for advice. See Wikipedia:Don't feed the trolls. Marskell (talk) 11:56, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:B-Sides_and_Rarities_QOTSA.png
editThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:B-Sides_and_Rarities_QOTSA.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 16:19, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

QOTSA
editGreat band.... But Songs for the Deaf is better. haha, cheers - Bagel7T's 08:01, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- True, but I even love their original CD, the self-titled one. I think all of their songs are genius. I'm lucky too, cause I got to see them in concert, it was fuckin sick. - Bagel7T's 04:24, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Bag of Suck
editA tag has been placed on Bag of Suck requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Jobjörn (talk) 01:07, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Bag of suck.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Bag of suck.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:21, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Well thanks...
editYou picked the wrong time to delete Bag of Suck. I was on a wikibreak... you need to check those things before you start wildly placing Speedy Delete tags on notable articles. Bag of Suck was a Highly notable video in the skateboarding world, released a few years back. I don't understand why you would delete the article, It obviously states that it was an important video in the develpment of Enjoi's future productions.
I guess it's too late now, but seeing that I am an experienced wikipedian (as are you), I beleive you should understand my disposition. Please try to avoid these problems in the future.
Thank you very much for your time.

- If you are such an experienced Wikipedian, you should know that you can recreate the article. With proper referencing it should avoid such a fate again. Also please note that I did not delete the article, Philippe did. Plrk (talk) 16:01, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
WikiProject Queens of the Stone Age
editHey dude, I've recently done essentially an overhaul in the past hour of the entire WikiProject, but like the idiot I am, I didn't check with you before doing it. Hope you don't mind what I've done. Red157(talk • contribs) 23:40, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Rock music WikiProject
editI'd like to invite you to join the newly-formed Rock music WikiProject. There's alot of Rock-related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help us get this project off the ground and a few Rock music pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks! --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 20:52, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, i don't know if you checked but take a look at the QotSA wiki project page. --Be Black Hole Sun (talk) 20:52, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
re: edit at OPRF
editGreetings Rated R!
I reverted an edit you made to this article, and wanted to explain why:
1. There was an edit that changed referenced content without changing the reference. I confirmed that the reference and original material matched. If this material is in error, please find a new reliable source to confirm your edit, and then re-add it. 2. Some of the material you added was without a reference. This article was just bumped up to "B", and may now be close to "GA" status. One aspect of the improvements is proper citing and referencing. Again, if you can reference your additions, please do so, and re-add the material. Not to mention, claiming OPRF's theater program to be one of the most advanced in the state, without considerable outside sourcing, violates WP:NPOV and WP:PEACOCK (even if it is true, which I suspect it very likely is).
Best of luck on your editing. LonelyBeacon (talk) 05:08, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Datsik
editI started a page on Datsik (musician) then I saw your note - can you help me with some reflinks? There isn't a lot to go on. I sent the page to Troy via Facebook, so he can check the discography & dates. A picture would be nice, too - I've never had much luck adding pics to Wikipedia.
Update: found a couple of links and a x-ref into Kelowna, but Larabot is on the case - would be great if you could weigh in - cheers Tig.
