Your Request for Adminship

edit

Thanks for taking the advice you were given. Please don't be offended or discouraged. Keep on editing and dealing with the vandals, and your time will come if you are interested in being an administrator. I just didn't want to see you go through the ordeal of getting lots of "oppose" comments that were predictable based on the length of time you've been here so far. Newyorkbrad 02:11, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your userpage

edit

I have removed from your userpage the claims that it was semi-protected and that you are an admin. Neither of these claims are true and they are highly misleading. In particular the fact that you claim to be an admin when you are not is extremely inappropriate and disruptive. Please do not revert this change or I will block you from editing. Thanks, Gwernol 19:55, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image:Capt Olimar.jpg

edit

I have tagged this image for speedy deletion for the second time. There are two problems: 1) It is clearly a copyrighted image, not one that you can release under Creative Commons, and 2) it is a duplicate of the correctly tagged image Image:Olimarart.jpg. Please do not upload it again, or place fair use images on your user page. These type images can only be placed in articles space. Sorry for the inconvenience, AuburnPilottalk 04:52, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Please remove the Captain Olimar image from your userpage. It is copyrighted and can only be used under fair use. –The Great Llamamoo? 22:43, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Pikminlover you are persisting in placing a fair use image on your userpage. This is in violation of Wikipedia's policy on fair use iamges. If you continue to flout the rules like this despite fair warning, you will be blocked from editing to prevent further disruption. Thanks, Gwernol 22:58, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blocked for continued violation of fair use policy

You have continued to violate our fair use policy despite numerous warnings. I have removed the fair use images from your uswerpage yet again and blocked you from editing. When your block expires please do not replace the fair use images on your userpage or you will be blocked for a substantially longer period. You may not put copyrighted, fair use images on your userpage. Gwernol 16:39, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Sorry abount the typos, but I had used the image Image:olimarart.jpg. Thank You Pikminlover 18:48, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

As I and others had explained to you, you can never put a fair use image on your userpage. Yet you have repeatedly reverted it on there and you clearly still don't understand that this is a rule of Wikipedia that you must follow. Gwernol 18:50, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have deleted Image:MaunaLoa-view-maunakea.gif since it is a copyrighted image taken from this website. I have also deleted Image:Object.gif since it too is a copyrighted image, in this case from this site. Again you absolutely cannnot take images you find on the web and upload them to Wikipedia without the written permission of the copyright holder. Also, you must not claim images are GFDL or licensed under a Creative commons license when they clearly are not. Thanks, Gwernol 04:14, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Golden Creature.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Golden Creature.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 04:14, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:CaDistSchool.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:CaDistSchool.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. The reason i removed the fair use images from your user page is because they violate fair use. Copyrited images may only be used on Wikipedia articles when it will be education, not for decoration on your page. Thanks! Scepia 23:24, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

It actually doesn't matter who took them. For example, if i scan a magazine, does that mean i own the copyright to the magazine? No. The copyright for Pikmin is always owned by Nintendo, regardless of who took the picture. Scepia 01:45, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

If you nominate yourself, you will have to make a new RfA page. If you want to withdraw your RfA, you leave a message at the RfA page, and use the appropriate templates to close and remove it from WP:RFA. Btw, I personally don't think you're ready for adminship now. You only have 526 edits, and most editors who pass RfAs have at least 2,500 or 3,000. I suggest going to WP:ER if you want a progress report done by other editors. Nishkid64 02:00, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

I have changed the copyright status of the image from "public domain" to "fair use creenshot". According to the image description page, it's an edited game screenshot; hence, you don't own copyright to it (it belongs to the company that made the game), and are in no position to release it into public domain. Also please note that the image is currently not used anywhere (and Pikmin (species) contains multiple screenshots of the creatures); fair use images which are not used in any articles may be deleted. Your VandalProof Application

edit

Dear Pikminlover,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. Daniel Bryant 08:30, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "YoMan33". The reason given for YoMan33's block is: "Vandalism".

Decline reason: Declined until the issue below is resolved. - auburnpilot talk 05:06, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just out of curiosity, how is it that you came in contact with User:YoMan33, who you reported to AIV and are now blocked due to sharing the same IP? Is this somebody you know, or a very strange coincident? - auburnpilot talk 04:23, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

And it seems it's not the first time. You revert and report User:Wheezy19 here and then suddenly find yourself autoblocked due to User:Wheezy19's block here. It's one thing to happen one, it's quite another to happen twice. - auburnpilot talk 04:30, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
And a third time. You revert User:The x house here then find yourself autblocked because of User:The x house's block here. - auburnpilot talk 04:37, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Fourth time here with User:Pkghfhf who created the nonsense article Hghfhg. Same IP, same city, same state, same ISP. - auburnpilot talk 04:50, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

And even more interesting, each and every time, the IP traces back to the same city and town where they are all part of Comcast's network. - auburnpilot talk 04:45, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I think I can explain this, and sorry for such a late response. User:The x House was my friend and he had made a couple of userpage edits when he came to my house, and he was blocked shortly after that (stolen password). User:Wheezy19 was my brother attempting to spam me because he likes to annoy me a lot. User:Pkghfhf was a coincidence on my IP. Lastly, User:YoMan33 was another account that my brother made to vandalise Wikipedia. Sorry about all of this, and just tell me about anything else. PikminloverMeep! 01:11, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Puggy LivingRoom.jpg

edit

The file File:Puggy LivingRoom.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused picture of toy

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
