Malcolm Chamberlain
Hello i have come to talk to you about Malcolm chamberlains page. I know a bit about his family as my son goes to his school and we are friends. My son has told me that i should add that Thomas chomberlain (malcolms son) has an ambition for a religious job as they are doing something in school which relates to jobs and providing this for thomas would help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chomberlain12 (talk • contribs) 21:07, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Chomberlain12: Hey there, welcome to Wikipedia. I can understand your position here, but policy states Wikipedia's Verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space. (WP:CITE). So unless there is something in this way that exists, unfortunately it can't be added, especially to a WP:BLP. Thank you -NottNott|talk 21:16, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
Updates to Arkansas Children's Hospital page
Hi,
I am working with Arkansas Children's Hospital to make edits to their Wikipedia page. I posted the changes on Thursday, but they were rejected. I need help learning why they were rejected and how I can make updated without them being rejected.
Thanks for your help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Teddydigiulio (talk • contribs) 18:09, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Teddydigiulio: Hey there, welcome to Wikipedia. Firstly, if you are paid to edit a Wikipedia page, you must disclose it as per WP:PAID. You should mention this on your user talk page as well as any edit summary you write from now on. I reverted your edit because the opening reads like promotion, which is not allowed per WP:PROMOTION. With that said there was some good new information included that isn't necessarily biased. I've revised the changes made (seen here) to contain your new information and address concerns related to WP:NPOV, as well as improve formatting. On the whole this is a good addition to the article - I'd advise you read WP:COI as you're being paid to edit the page. Thank you! -NottNott|talk 21:33, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
Scott Newcomer Page - Personal Life category addition
I need to add an additional topic header, such as personal. Former Representative Newcomer is lobbying again on a national scale and there needs to be an area to add these new endeavors to his page. I have credible sources to use. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hywatch (talk • contribs) 23:27, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Hywatch, welcome to Wikipedia. What are these sources you'd like to use? -NottNott|talk 23:30, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
http://www.aaahi.org/ - this website is being updated according to the email blast last week and has 'Federal and State' lobbying headed up by Scott Newcomer
http://www.atihomeinspectortraining.com/ (Nationwide Home Inspector Training company)
www.tri-c.edu/about/blog/2017/february/tri-c-to-host-training-program-for-new-home-inspectors.html
https://www.housetohomeinspect.com/
http://waukesha.uwc.edu/continuing-ed/home-inspector-training (Adjunct Professor)
www.retshomeinspectiontraining.com/
Clearly, his personal page needs to be added as he has been very busy......and this All American Association of Home Inspector's is focusing on National Lobbying for the Home Inspection Industry which relates directly to his political profile.
Perhaps it goes under a different category rather than personal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hywatch (talk • contribs) 03:43, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Hywatch: Be sure to read WP:BLP very carefully. The sources you've listed above only mention that he has formed the lobbying group. Other claims like largely Republican and that he runs with his wife Amy need good WP:SOURCES otherwise it can come off as libel. I recommend you add you add only as much information as the sources you have can provide, and no more. -NottNott|talk 20:47, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
Thank you. I will carefully review the source rules. Perhaps I will just keep an eye on it and wait for the new website to be unveiled and see if it is more specific. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hywatch (talk • contribs) 00:33, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
@NottNott: Okay, I have reviewed the rules for sources and I want to go over the deletion edits I tried to make yesterday. I deleted them because they are not correct and do not relate to the statement being cited/sourced. It currently says, 'In August 2009, Newcomer filed for divorce from his wife.[15][16][17]'.....citation 15 & 17 go to a home page of a local newspaper and do not mention anything about Scott Newcomer. Citation #16, is an editorial opinion blog that is highly biased opinion piece that doesn’t cite or link to even one single source in the entire thing. I would think this could be libel? The statement says he filed for divorce in August of 2009 and nowhere in the article does it even mention a date of this so called divorce filing and he certainly didn’t cite it anywhere.
Just as a side note, I am new to this because I am going back for a Masters in Political Science. This is my first project and as I am originally from Wisconsin, I am writing a paper on Wisconsin politicians. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hywatch (talk • contribs) 01:08, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Hywatch: You're right about 15 and 17, I've removed those. 16 is a source from the archive of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel which definitely is a reliable source in of itself, given it's the most popular newspaper in Wisconsin. Is editing Wikipedia your project? -NottNott|talk 21:45, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- As 32.218.41.250 pointed out, the other two sources have now been fixed instead of removed. -NottNott|talk 22:01, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
Removal of deadlinked sources
Hello, and thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia! However, you should know that it is not a good idea to remove citations or information sourced through citations simply because a link to a source is not working, as you did to Scott Newcomer. Dead links should not be deleted. Instead, please repair or replace the link, if possible, and ensure properly sourced information is retained. Often, a live substitute link can be found. Links not used as references, notes or citations are not as important, such as those listed in the "External links" or "Further reading" sections, but bad links in those sections should also be fixed if possible. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. 32.218.41.250 (talk) 21:46, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- @32.218.41.250: Done, see [1]. Thanks for the reminder -NottNott|talk 22:01, 5 February 2018 (UTC)

- @KensonKKnowles: What's this production company? It likely doesn't meet the threshold for WP:Notability - which requires reliable, independent third party sources. What's it called? -NottNott|talk 16:53, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

About "Betawi people"
My name is Rafif. I am a native Batavian. I made changes on the term "Betawi" to "Batavian(s)". I chose this term because this is the right translation to English based on "Historical Dictionary of Indonesia" by Robert Cribb and Audrey Kahin (The Scarecrow Press, Inc.: 2004), "The Indonesian Language: Its history and role in modern society" by James Sneddon (University of New South Wales Press Ltd.: 2003), "The Ethnic Profile of Djakarta" by Lance Castle (Cornell University).
These are also supported by Indonesian-Dutch translation based on van Dale's "Groot Woordenboek der Nederlandse Taal", A.Teeuw's "Indonesisch-Nederlands Woordenboek", and the official census note of the Dutch colonial government which said "orang Betawi" as 'Batavianen'.
For those reason, I as a native Batavian, chose and tend to use 'Batavian' in English instead of 'Betawi'.

Jack Conklin's Bio
Hello, I think that the changes that I made to Conklin's page were all perfect. I'm his little sister and I think that I should be recognized. Biographies of living people must be very well sourced - otherwise it can come off as defamatory. Unless your existence is verifiable in a third-party source, please don't include this in the article. SHE DOES NOT DESERVE A PAGE!!! SHE IS LITERALLY A DANGEROUS PERSON AND SHE CREATED THIS PAGE HERSELF. A LOT OF THE INFO ON THE PAGE IS FALSE TO GLORIFY HERSELF. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brookelascp (talk • contribs) 19:43, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Brookelascp: Welcome to Wikipedia. Reading the article, it doesn't seem that biased, and she meets the notability criteria. I suggest you read WP:BLP carefully if you're looking to be constructive here, as removing a page like that is vandalism and won't be tolerated. Saying she's done something bad without providing a source is libel and will likely get you blocked pretty quickly. -NottNott 19:58, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
Recent Edit
Hello @NottNott: I Made an edit of the Motto which a lot of students will say throughout the halls and at the sporting events. It was started as a way of saying " Copley Copley! " but shortened to CoCo. -NooneLikesCommonCore (signed by -NottNott)
- @NooneLikesCommonCore: Hey there, welcome to Wikipedia. Since it's not a verifiable fact in a reliable source, it can't be included as it would go against the policy on original research. Listing it as the official motto in particular isn't a good idea as it could be disinformation. Thanks -NottNott 23:16, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
Advice
Hi NottNott I have taken this seriously and since I have just joined Wikipedia I wI'll accept whatever u have ssid to me within reason. My only request I that how do I add a picture . - @Qatarman: Hey there, welcome to Wikipedia. To upload an image, you'll need to use a desktop PC. The most important thing to do is identify the copyright status of the image, do you own it? Some images may be uploaded under fair use per WP:FAIRUSE if the purpose it serves is useful enough and can't be replaced with some free content instead. Images without valid copyright tagging may be marked for deletion. After this, it's simply a matter of uploading the image and linking to it in the article. Because you're a new editor, I'm happy to review the image you want to add to see if it's appropriate (users must be autoconfirmed to add images. What's the URL of the image you want to add? -NottNott 23:23, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
Copley High School
@NottNott: I Understand there is no source that says " The school motto is " But it is the motto that is said. They're not going to make a website called " Copley High School Facts " and have the motto listed. The fight song is listed as Across The Field but where is the source stating that's the official fight song? NooneLikesCommonCore (talk) 23:32, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- @NooneLikesCommonCore: Reading over Wikipedia:Likely to be challenged and with your rationale, it is true that the fight song does not have a source, but it is unlikely to be challenged as the song that is written wouldn't be beyond reasonable doubt that it's the motto. As for 'Coco' as the motto however, common sense would lead someone outside of the school to question if that's really the motto as it's hardly a common one. It's also not the official motto of the school, rather a student-made one. It's a motto that's likely to be challenged without a source, so it should be removed until an official source confirming it's the official motto exists. -NottNott 00:10, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
Karinna/Corrinna Nebulae
I cited the source as within the search for the etimology of the name Karinna/Corrinna. I gave kudos to Neil DeGrass Tyson. What more can I do? The rest is philosophic but based on sound mathematical well known symbols and general knowledge. I am trying to join science and philosophy.
Should I cite the Zen Buddist information? Just tell me what I have to do. I have been a teacher for 30 years of English, ESL, Linguistics, Computer graphics and art/art history and I am married to a chemical engineer turned math teacher.
Just get the info out there, I do not need credit but I know what i know and others should know. I do not say I am right just "hey think about it" (agnostic in the truest sense and we are all waiting for the evidence). I think this is the evidence here based in pure science that of possibly a supreme being. I don't know. I just "put the lego blocks together", man. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spekka.duhjst (talk • contribs) 00:11, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Spekka.duhjst: Welcome to Wikipedia. It reads more like a fan theory suitable for a blog than an encyclopedic entry, with no WP:inline citations and a lot of speculative writing. Ask yourself whether you would see this information as it is written in the Encyclopaedia Brittanica. If the answer is a resounding no, then it shouldn't be included. -NottNott 01:20, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

Weird UAA report
I am at a loss as to why you thought naming yourself after a forest is a username violation that implies shared use. Like, the forest itself is editing? If there is some other context that I am not aware of, please clarify your report to reflect that. For the time being I have declined it. Thanks. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:32, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Beeblebrox: I was thinking it could reference http://sherwoodforest.org.uk/ - the charitable organisation that maintains the forest. But I guess then it would be called 'The Sherwood Forest Trust'. Probably not a good report in hindsight, ah well -NottNott 22:47, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

re :FYROM and the so called 'Macedonian' language - no such thing.
The people of FYROM are related to Slavs and speak Slavic - acknowledged even by FYROM's own Professors. Not to mention the claims (including language) Bulgarians and Albanians make over FYROM.
The Skopje language is undeniably Slavic
Furthermore the written Slavic languages were developed by two Byzantine Greek monastic scholars and linguists, Cyril and Methodius of Thessaloniki.
BTW, there was no Slavic presence in Macedonia until nearly 1,000 years after the time of Alexander the Great. http://www.macedonianleague.org/news/skopje-mayor-alexander-the-great-was-never-part-of-our-real-history
Macedonian is just Greek, just like a Peloponnesian or a Creten (both parts of the Hellenic Republic) would speak Greek. Ancient Macedonians spoke Ancient Greek just like modern Macedonians speak Modern Greek. The continuation of the Greek language over the centuries is apparent and undeniable in many texts and sculptures. There are many historical, archaeological and linguistic proofs. Too many to list them all
The late Prof. Nicholas Hammond's book, The Macedonian State, Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1989. As regards the language, by 5th century B.C, Attic Greek was standardized as the language of Ancient Macedonia (Makedon). For instance, of the 1,044 inscriptions included in the fascicle Inscriptiones Thessalonicae et Viciniae (ISBN 3 11 0018594) –one of the most painstaking and complex volumes of the Berlin corpus, encompassing all the inscriptions of ancient Thessaloniki from the 3rd century B.C. to the 7th or 8th century A.D.– most are Greek, while a few are Latin (personal communication with Dr. John C.
