Welcome!

edit

Hello, Newportbelcourt, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited was Belcourt Castle, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Belcourt Castle

edit

Hi there, seems you have an issue with the Belcourt Castle article. You also seem to be connected to one of the owners given your name. Please take the time to discuss your edits on the article talk page before blanking material or inserting claims without references. This notice was previously posted at the "Belcourt history" user page. Please make note of Wikipedia's policy on editing articles concerning an organization you are affiliated with. Thanks! Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Not sure what your intentions are. By reverting my edits, you're removing the categories and adding space that conflicts with our manual of style. There seems to be no reasoning behind this, and at any rate it is clear that you are edit warring, showing ownership of the article or a possible conflict of interest. Please refrain reverting constructive edits, which are in my case, completely uncontroversial. Failure to do so will likely result in you being blocked. Thanks — MusikAnimal talk 17:14, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please stop assuming ownership of articles. Behavior such as this is regarded as disruptive and could lead to edit wars and personal attacks, and is a violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. — MusikAnimal talk 15:09, 20 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Belcourt Castle, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Widr (talk) 15:03, 21 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts

edit

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Belcourt history, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion

edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. — MusikAnimal talk 15:18, 21 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Mark Arsten (talk) 18:10, 21 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for returning to the same edit war that led to the previous block, and for other disruptive editing, including unexplained removal of references, categories, and other content. You have been doing this over a period of more than two months, either using more than one account yourself or acting in support of someone else who has made the same edits. If you believe that there are good reasons for your edits, then when the block expires please explain those reasons on the article's talk page, and be prepared to discuss your reasons with other editors, with a view to trying to reach agreement. Individual editors simply repeating their preferred edits over and over again, so that the most stubborn editor eventually gets his or her way, is not a constructive way of settling disagreements, and it is not the way things are done on Wikipedia. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  JamesBWatson (talk) 20:19, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
