Speedy deletion of EA's Fiscal Year
editA tag has been placed on EA's Fiscal Year requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Nsevs • Talk 23:13, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Partnership
editif anyone ever wants to partner up to make a article...i'm in
First off, thank you for taking the time out to create an article. As I mentioned on the talk page, it is a genuine format war, and has good grounds for an article to be created. However, the article as it stands, without wholesale changes, will probably end up being deleted.
The copy and paste of large sections of work, as the majority of the article is, goes against Wikipedia's policies, and would need to be re-written in someone's one words with a neutral POV, and references from a variety of refutable sources, not just one. There is also no need for a entire list of DS games in the article.
I would recommend requesting help at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games for an experienced editor to help you with the article. I can help with a few things here and there, but I don't have the time to make wholesale changes.
If you need any more help or information, please let me know. Thanks, --Eastlygod (talk) 13:14, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'll also be happy to help you, I'm in the project also. STORMTRACKER 94 Go Irish! 13:24, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- I would start off by finding more sources to back up the statements you make in the article. A good idea would be to look at High definition optical disc format war, a very good article detailing the history of the HDDVD/Blue-ray format war. As you can see from there, each statement is clearly referenced and sourced. Also, if the article was to be deleted, and you looked to create a improved version to re-insert, create the article is stages in your user area, until it is finished and ready to be added. You can get editors at the above Wikiproject to proof-read and correct any mistakes/changes before it is created. And again, the list of DS Games is not needed in this article. --Eastlygod (talk) 13:27, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

editIt looks great, but you need to take the box covers off due to Wikipedia's copyrighted images policy. (Don't worry, I made this mistake, too). I'm also going to try to save the DS vs. PSP article for you. STORMTRACKER 94 Go Irish! 13:34, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- You can't use any images that are copyrighted. If you click on the images, you will see a license at the bottom,. and if it isn't, you can use it anywhere. I would suggest not using any images from google. STORMTRACKER 94 Go Irish! 13:53, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editHi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 13:48, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Kingrock. I noticed you've requested termination and speedy deletion of the Halo Wars article. Since it's a major upcoming game by an established and well-known studio, I don't think the article is going to be deleted. Joyous! | Talk 04:40, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

- I'm sorry I nominated the article with the wrong template (should have been criterion A3). The underconstruction tag was placed on the article after I put it up for speedy deletion, as it had no content an so was not a valid stub. Sorry for the trouble but next time it might be avoided if you add some content to an article when you create it. Regards, Guest9999 (talk) 19:12, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, images are prohibited in signatures, but do you like this? : King Rock Go 'Skins!
If you like it, paste <font face="Bauhaus 93" size="2.0" color="#7D0008"> King</font><font face="Times New Roman" size="2.3" color="#FFBE26"> Rock </font> Go 'Skins! into "signature" in "my preferences" and check "raw signature."
What you might want to do is work on it in a user subpage (such as User:Kingrock/Firestar's Quest) so that you can work on it at your leisure without worrying about it getting deleted while you're in progress. Make sure to cite your sources and assert the book's notability. The previous AFD also noted that previous versions of the article have focused only on the plot; try to avoid that. (When was the book released, critics' commentary, and so on should be included.) Check back in with me when you've got a draft ready and I'd be happy to unprotect the page for you. —Scott5114↗ [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 00:02, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

the reason why there is an extra 4 at the end is not a mistake
editThe correct name is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Stormtracker94_4 the reason why there's an extra 4 at the end is that it's the 4th request for adminship for him.
There's already http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Stormtracker94 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Stormtracker94_2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Stormtracker94_3
so it needs the 4. See what I mean?:) special, random, Merkinsmum 02:11, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

editPlease consider expanding Warriors (novel series) instead, as it is unlikely this fictional group will have any notability (WP:N) outside the novel. Don't forget WP:V, of course. The WP:Writing about fiction guide will also be useful. Marasmusine (talk) 14:31, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Warriors: ThunderClan
editA tag has been placed on Warriors: ThunderClan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article.
SMS Talk 14:37, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- The article only consisted of an external link. You can work on the information in your own user space, and if it appears to meet Wikipedia standards of notability, it can be moved back into the main article space. ... discospinster talk 14:42, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- The tag only says "Consider not tagging with a deletion tag unless the page hasn't been edited in several days." It is not against any rules to place a speedy delete tag on, or delete, an article that has the underconstruction tag on it. As I have said, you can work on the article in your own space (such as at User:Kingrock/Warriors: ThunderClan) until it is ready. ... discospinster talk 14:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Regarding the note you left at the top of Warriors: Firestar's Quest
edit"because this book is based soley on my knowledge of what I have read"
- Please see the policy on original research. You can't write articles based solely on your knowledge of the subject. Everything needs to be reliably sourced.
- The Warriors ThunderClan is likely to be deleted (again) for the same reason. The original article was deleted after a deletion discussion. Continuing to recreate it using different titles isn't an acceptable way to get around that. --Onorem♠Dil 16:05, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- discospinster's suggestion above that you consider preparing the article at User:Kingrock/Warriors: ThunderClan is a good one. Let people review it, and see that you've used proper sources, before moving it into article space. --Onorem♠Dil 16:07, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
deletion of reposted material
editI have deleted Prince of Persia: Ghosts of The Past. This is because there was previously a deletion discussion (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Prince of Persia: Ghosts of the Past), which resulted in delete and nothing substantial has changed since then. The main reason for the deletion was the lack of any real sources. If you believe that the article should not have been deleted please review wikipedia's policy on future events and explain your reasons at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Thank you. editWelcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Tigerstar. AfD nomination of Tigerstar
editAn editor has nominated Tigerstar, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tigerstar and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:00, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

editAnother editor has added the prod
template to the article The Dark Warriors, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the prod
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 22:01, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Of course not!
editOf course I'm not trying to get you back! It's just that Tigerstar is in-universe, and articles about fiction on Wikipedia need to be out-of universe. It would be very helpful for you if you would read WP:Fiction. If you like, I could try and save Tigerstar from deletion, but I doubt it's possible. Sorry for any confusion! Deletion tags on Game Review
editApologies if it wasn't you who removed the tag - the page has gone so I can't check the edit history (likewise for any entries in user contribution pages). However, there would have been no need for you to tag the page with holdon if the db tag had already been removed. Nice job for adding the page in the first place though - Wikipedia is all about being bold and contributing. If this article is worthy of a page in Wikipedia, it will gain notability in due course. See you around!

Guitar Hero 3 cheat codes
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Guitar Hero 3 cheat codes, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add db-author

Darth Vader
editHey there. I decided to revert this edit of yours. There are at least two issues involved: The first being a lack of citation for either of the two sentences; even more importantly, in the wider context of both the Star Wars franchise and the character of Darth Vader, The Force Unleashed is of very minor relevance and this piece of information doesn't belong in the lead of the article. Speedy deletion of How It Should Have Ended
editA tag has been placed on How It Should Have Ended requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 01:13, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry it was deleted before I posted this. If you had confirmed that you have reliable sources per WP:RS to support notability per WP:WEB I would have removed the speedy tag. You may want to consider using a user sandbox/subpage if you want to create an article in stages, to avoid new article patrollers (like me) from tagging for speedy while you are still creating your article. Thanks! – ukexpat (talk) 01:23, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
A lot of your edits are being reverted
editHi, we chatted a few days ago on something I can't remember what now, but I just noticed that a lot of your edits (especially recently) have been reverted immediately after you made them. I suggest that the edits you make include references and are written well. I hope that helps. Cheers! Gary King (talk) 03:23, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
My RFA is coming up in early May, so I was wondering if you could write a nomination statement now (I suspect you want to, because you nominated me about a month ago). Speedy deletion of The Vandalism Wars
editA tag has been placed on The Vandalism Wars, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon

Reasons
editAs per WP:DENY, I've blipped your thing on "Vandalism Wars".
It really isn't particularly amusing. DS (talk) 01:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
re: The Immortals
editThe reason why I rated the article low in importance is because of two factors: it has yet to be released so its importance in the book world is uncertain and the article on the book series does not establish importance. What you need to do is find reliable secondary sources to establish importance; book reviews from notable Science Fiction critics, for example, would be suitable. This goes doubly for the main book series article, which also completely lacks sources. Simply saying it's "popular" doesn't cut it on Wikipedia, I'm afraid. :) Best of luck, María (habla conmigo) 22:35, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Good job!
editI think the two articles you made will survive. You are getting the hang of it here! Good job! STORMTRACKER 94 Go Irish! 23:14, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Novels WikiProject
editHi, and welcome to the Novels WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to fiction books often referred to as "Novels".
A few features that you might find helpful:

A tag has been placed on The Immortals (Grey Griffins), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a user page from the main/article space.
If you can fix the redirect to point to a regular Wikipedia article rather than a user page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template hangon
to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. María (habla conmigo) 18:26, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- You're mistaken. I did not put the deletion prod on your sandbox page. It may be difficult to tell with the redirect, but I put the prod here, which is no longer where the article is since you moved it. Because the entire content of the article is now on your userspace, leaving a redirect to User:Kingrock/sandbox/The Immortals (Grey Griffins), the original article (now only a redirect) is a candidate for speedy deletion; this was explained to you above. In short, it is improper to have an article redirect to one's userpage. You should not have moved the page in the first place, so in order to rectify this, the original article needs to be deleted; however, the content will remain in your userspace so you can continue to work on it. I hope this makes sense? I am going to re-add the prod, but if you still have issues with it, please follow the directions rather than simply removing it. Plot summaries: NO!
editNo, no, no, no! It would be a major problem. Overlong plot summaries of the entire book, much less each chapter, are the kind of things that get deleted all the time. We don't want plot summaries; we want to know what the rest of the world thinks of the book. If nobody has noticed it much, the article may be deleted under WP:BOOK, regardless of how much you like it. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:04, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- You need to read WP:FICTION; not all novels are notable. I didn't delete the article, but unless you can establish notability under our standards, they will all be deleted. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:09, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- There are in excess of 100,000 new books published every year. Not all of them are going to be notable. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:17, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- That's what all the links in this thread are about. These are the standards we use to measure which books get articles and which don't. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:34, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Actually....
editExcuse me, first of all I will edit any article I want and you are not one to tell me to leave an article alone.
Second, if you actually cared to look at the edit you would see that I reverted an edit after yours BACK to your edit. Do a diff on your last edit to mine and you will see there is no difference, I just removed the vandalism that happened afterwards.
Also, you might want to read up on WP:CIVIL. Your message was unnecessarily accusatory. Wjw0111 (talk) 04:08, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- What edit are you talking about? Give me a diff link. Wjw0111 (talk) 04:09, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think you will see here that you made a revision, then someone else edited and then I reverted back to your version. I think you are seeing things. Wjw0111 (talk) 04:11, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, you really didn't have good reason to be suspicious. You will see from my edit history that most of my contribs are to revert vandalism, as I was doing to that article. If I reverted 'to' your revision I really don't see how that could ever be conceived as reverting your edit... In the future, I would highly recommend against accusing registered users with edit histories making clear their intentions, of vandalism. Threats of getting an admin involved included. Do your research before such comments, and even after that I would recommend being a bit more civil. For your sake and the sake of other users please consider reading WP:CIVIL Thanks. Wjw0111 (talk) 04:16, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- You actually said that you apologized, but not for being suspicious. When you actually had no reason to be suspicious, so I was unaware of why you would leave that out. The apology wasn't uncivil, but the initial accusation was. The reasons to back that up: You started the post with "Watch out", you threatened admin involvement.
- It is generally wikipedia policy to warn vandals (even when they ARE vandals) by assuming good faith. That is why I mentioned incivility. I'm sorry if any of my language furthered those negative feelings. I'm sure you can understand that when you are working on here to revert vandalism, to be accused of it yourself is quite troubling. I would not have minded so much if you had assumed good faith, however seeing "Watch out" and then having threats of contacting admins and then warning to leave an article alone were what was troubling me. My main concern here wasn't with the mistake (those happen, we're all human) I was just concerned about they way you handled it. Thanks Wjw0111 (talk) 04:32, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- No hard feelings. I'm sure I responded too hastily myself. Us anti-vandals need to stick together. Cheers Wjw0111 (talk) 04:39, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Little context in Grey Griffins Navbox
editHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Grey Griffins Navbox, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Grey Griffins Navbox is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Grey Griffins Navbox, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Peer Review
editI think you've made the correct choice; peer reviews are very helpful and it'll get you more input from experienced users. To create one, just go to WP:PR and follow the directions by adding to the top of the talk page. Let me know when you have it up and I'll give you some suggestions. María (habla conmigo) 21:40, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- A lead is difficult to write/comment upon if the rest of the article does not exist. As I said in my PR comments, WP:LEAD states that the first section is supposed to be a summary of the entire article. I find it easier to write the article first and then the lead so I know what to include. Right now your revised lead consists of only three sentences, so it's difficult to say what exactly will be included in the body of the article. Try writing the entire article based on my comments (and others if more people comment) and then the lead. María (habla conmigo) 11:06, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: Newsletter bot
editYou know what, I've never really had any experience with bots either. So I don't really know what is necessary to approve a bot and get it up and running. I do think having a bot automate the delivery of the newsletter would be great since the subscription list is over 40 now. The newsletter is still getting of the ground now and we may not automate it just yet, but the sooner the better.
I'll leave a reminder on the VG talk page about the newsletter needing to get ready for next week and try to get feedback on automation. Thanks. (Guyinblack25 talk 22:04, 29 April 2008 (UTC))
