User:Rosie at helstonmuseum
I just noticed that you left a warning to them the other day because of their username. It's not really a problem because they have got a new name, User:Rosiecornwall, but according to Wikipedia:Username policy#Usernames implying shared use that particular style of username is permitted and was in the warning you left them: "However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87"." Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 11:37, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi CambridgeBayWeather. Thanks for the post. I am aware of the policy, but you seem not to have looked very closey at what actually happened. That particular editor's user name was "Helstonmuseum" when I added the warning to their talk page. If you carefully read my post at User talk:Rosie at helstonmuseum#Potential conflict of interest editng and problematic username, you'll see this. They then tried to change their name to "Rosie@Helstonmuseum" at Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple/Archive182#helstonmuseum → rosie@helstonmuseum, but were told here by K6ka that they couldn't. Eventually, they were blocked here by Rjd0060 for having an inappropriate username. Their user name was then changed to "Rosie at Helstonmuseum" after the fact with this edit by Xeno. Both Rjd600 and Xeno are administrators and K6ka is also an experienced editor so I'm pretty sure that one of them would have let me know if my warning was a mistake. - Marchjuly (talk) 13:29, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- @CambridgeBayWeather and Marchjuly: Just chirping in to say that, from what I can see, the warning was issued before the user was renamed to their current name, so I don't see it as an issue. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 13:42, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- You are both absolutely right. I completely missed that. My apologies for the screw up. I've struck out the original remarks. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 14:25, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- No worries CambridgeBayWeather. I took a double dose of my "oversensitive and defensive pills" today which has me a little on edge. Thanks for the "strike out". - Marchjuly (talk) 15:02, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

Melissa McBride article
Hello, I have tried to discuss my edits on the Melissa McBride article's talk page, but user Alrofficial has reverted them three times within 24 hours without discussion, which is supposed to result in a user being blocked from editing. I had signed my original "SOS..." post, but it must have been unintentionally deleted by a subsequent edit. I had originally removed the IMDB link because that website is notoriously inaccurate and manipulated by fraudulent fan voting. I had understood that there is a difference between listing an external link versus a source, but extrapolated that Wiki's rejection of a website as the former equated to its likewise dismissal as the latter. A quick search reveals that Wiki inexplicably approves of such a questionable external link under the referenced circumstances, so I stand corrected. Further, I did not deliberately remove any images; I apologize if I did. As the main article appears now, the syntax, semantics and morphology would shame any grade school grammar student, as I have previously noted. Would you be so kind as to correct the grammar yourself or simply revert the page to my last edits (with your objections excepted)?--PhiladelphiaInjustice (talk) 12:18, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
- I see you've posted the same at Talk:Melissa McBride so I reply there. - Marchjuly (talk) 12:25, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
