Template Thessaloniki
editHi, in August you changed the {{Thessaloniki}} template from a navigation bar for municipalities and communities in the Thessaloniki prefecture to a list of landmarks, education etc. in the city of Thessaloniki. Since it wasn't meant as such, and isn't used as such (it's still only included in articles about municipalities), I'm reverting your edits. If you think a template for landmarks etc. of Thessaloniki is useful, you should create a new template, and add it to relevant articles. Markussep Talk 19:38, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Re: "Are you sure that this is important?" @ Olymbias
editYes, I do think it's important. Olymbias (Rakita) used to be a purely Bulgarian village before the Balkan Wars. A 1878 source has the population as 200 Bulgarians and 30 Muslims, Vasil Kanchov lists 700 Bulgarians in 1900, a Greek source from 1904 lists 500 Bulgarian "schismatics" (Exarchists), the Exarchate itself reports of 960 Bulgarian Exarchists in the village in 1906. A Greek school report from 1941 says Olymbias is inhabited by 125 Bulgarian-speaking families and 25 Greek refugee families. Clearly, this is some notable history, like it or not. Lt Roussen
editHello! I was also intrigued by Lt Roussen (esp. his very unusual name, I suspect a Bavarian descent), so I made a quick search and found some info, and presto! Cheers, Constantine ✍ 10:28, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
No content in Category:Greece city templates
editHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Greece city templates, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Greece city templates has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Greece city templates, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. editOf course not! I wrote: Thanks God, that somebody came here (which in Albanian jargon is the same as slave and I was referring to Aigest) and the rest is totally different.Balkanian`s word (talk) 20:45, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Hahaha that translation was soooo funny:) thank you Kapnisma;) Actually BW's is a little bit wrong because the direct meaning of Alb. rob is captive (ex rob lufte = POW), (in Albanian jargon rob = somebody and anyway BW's was refering to me and I confirm his version) and is remotely connenceted with slave. The albanian word for slave is Skllav. Thank you once more for the translation, I will keep in mind to make use of google when I'll need some humour :) Aigest (talk) 08:30, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Editcounter
editThank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Intelligentsium 17:03, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Kapnisma! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 4 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Adorcelino Wesley Gomes da Silva - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Anderson Costa - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File permission problem with File:Kleanthis Vikelides Stadium.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Kleanthis Vikelides Stadium.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 02:39, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:Coin from Toroni.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:Coin from Toroni.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:10, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Hut on the marshes of Giannitsa.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Hut on the marshes of Giannitsa.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:16, 1 January 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 11:16, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Aris Thessalonikis.png
editThank you for uploading File:Aris Thessalonikis.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:28, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Non-free rationale for File:XXV Hel ABr.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:XXV Hel ABr.jpg. Orphaned non-free image File:Aris Thessalonikis.png
editThanks for uploading File:Aris Thessalonikis.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:11, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
