Bob Stinson (baseball)

edit

Hey Jonneroo, welcome to Wikipedia. In answer to your questions...

  1. It was decided a while ago (see here) that it was redundant to link to the rosters from the article, especially when the team categories point to the same info.
  2. As for {{Baseballstats}}, it should be added to the External links of any Major Leaguer, past & present. The five fields point to the player's pages on mlb.com, espn.com, baseball-reference.com, fangraphs.com and thebaseballcube.com. Active players ideally should have all five filled out, and retired players should get the last three. (The exception is players who ended their career before 1903, in which case thebaseballcube.com won't have any info.) I removed the blank fields for MLB/ESPN and added the links to Fangraphs and the Baseball Cube.
  3. Finally, you left a space after the colon in your category links. AWB (an editing tool I use) removed the space as a formatting tweak.

You're doing great work so far, and we appreciate your help. Let me know if you have any questions about editing baseball articles, or even just general questions about how things work around here. I'll be glad to help. Cheers, Caknuck (talk) 20:16, 3 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just wanted to let you know I found a couple sections you had volunteered to do some time ago and it looked like you forgot about them so I finished them up Diff Jeepday (talk) 18:19, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

WOW, you have some grand visions of helping out at stubsensor and your desire to help is greatly appreciated. Looks like you have signed up to do half of remaining sections on User:Triddle/stubsensor/20070716/17. You are welcome to do as many as you would like, but would you consider only signing up for as many as you can do in a day or so. Others may like to assist as well. Jeepday (talk) 18:29, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

The number of people coming to help varies, sometimes more sometimes less. You are right many of the articles need more then just a stub tag removed. Keep up the good work. Jeepday (talk) 01:37, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

This user's behavior exhibits a pattern of trolling at best, vandalism at worst. Can he/she be given a timeout and asked to sit in the corner? Thanks in advance. Jonneroo (talk) 05:34, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message [1] on my talk page. 68.88.232.38 (talk · contribs) is actually just one of the many IP socks of banned editor Mariam83 (talk · contribs). Every few weeks she goes on an IP-jumping vandalism spree (see the massive list at Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Mariam83) in an attempt to vent her impotent rage at being permanently banned from Wikipedia. While I feel sorry for her, the attacks are quite easily dealt with via WP:RBI. --Kralizec! (talk) 15:02, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Donna J. Sturgess

edit

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Donna J. Sturgess, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Featured article

Featured Arkansas article of the month:

  • Monte Ne is an area in the Ozark hills of the White River valley east of Rogers on the edge of Beaver Lake in the U.S. State of Arkansas. From 1901 until the mid-1930s the area was a health resort and ambitious planned community. It was owned and operated by William Hope Harvey, a financial theorist and one time U.S. Presidential nominee. Two of its hotels, "Missouri Row" and "Oklahoma Row", were the largest log buildings in the world. Oklahoma Row's "tower section" is one of the earliest examples of a multi-story cement structure. The tower is the only structure of Monte Ne still standing. Monte Ne introduced the first indoor swimming pool in Arkansas, and was also the site of the only presidential convention ever held in Arkansas. (more...)

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:33, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. 3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
