Welcome!
editHello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Reema Major, have removed content without an explanation. Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! editPlease do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to The Voice Project (music), without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Also, please don't change British English to American English in articles about British subjects. Tacyarg (talk) 08:30, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

Care needed
editWelcome to Wikipedia editing, and thank you for trying to help improve the encyclopedia.
Please use edit summaries to explain your edits, and do not remove content without explaining why.
Please also take care not to change the meaning of other editors' work without explaining why. In this edit, the word "mainly", meaning "often but not always", is not unnecessary. Removing it implies that he is the only male protagonist in his paintings. I have noticed several other similar mistakes in your editing. Please take more care.
The edit which brought you to my attention was this one: the subject's name should be spelled with a lower-case "t" for "de la tierra" because that was how she spelled her name: your "correction" to change it to "de la Tierra" was wrong. You changed "the quarterly magazine was distributed in various parts of the United States and to many Latin American countries, including Colombia." to "the quarterly magazine was distributed in various parts of the United States and Latin America.": the original version is more informative, given that Colombia was her home country. Please take care not to damage the encyclopedia by your edits. Thanks. PamD 15:39, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Another example: here you removed a sourced quote. The article correctly stated that she "has been called "the world's best-known Arabophone woman novelist"." (well, the word "probably" had been omitted: I've added it), sourced to an encyclopedia, and there was no reason to remove that statement. Please do not remove sourced content without giving an explanation. Thanks. PamD 15:43, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Ok! Thank you for the informations! Johnmarrys (talk) 16:11, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- But are you taking any notice? In your first edit after that reply:
- you changed "It currently{{When|date=August 2022}} has" to "Now it currently has". No, the tag was asking when "currently" meant, and your change was useless. We do not use "Currently" in Wikipedia. I have changed this to "{{As of|2013}} it had ...", as the source is dated to 2013. Please do not make "improvements" which do not improve.
- you changed "The organization offers the Alkauthar institute which has offered courses in 25 cities to over 57,000 students since its inception.", which is ugly but makes sense, to "The organization offers the Alkauthar institute has offered courses in 25 cities to over 57,000 students since its inception.", which does not make sense.
- in "designed to showcase a diverse portfolio of shows", the word "diverse" is useful, but you removed it without comment
- Please stop editing unless you are able and willing to do so more carefully. PamD 17:08, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, I perfectly understand. I am very sorry, I will do it more carefully.
- I am trying to contribute to Wikipedia because it's something I love to do.
- Can we exchange our e-mails? I would like to ask you some questions on how to improve Wikipedia.
- Thanks in advance for your kindness. Johnmarrys (talk) 21:53, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- No, I prefer to communicate on-wiki. If you have a question for me, please use {{ping}} or my talk page. PamD 05:03, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- But are you taking any notice? In your first edit after that reply:
- In this edit, made after you had thanked me for my post above, you made 3 changes:
- You linked a year: no, we do not link years
- You linked a country: no, we do not link countries
- You changed "Shelford and his colleagues such as Aldo Leopold increasingly sought..." to "Shelford with his colleague Aldo Leopold increasingly sought ...". Have you checked the source (I haven't, as it a book which is not online). If not, why did you change the statement from one which said that Shelford worked with more than one colleague, one of whom was Leopold, to a statement saying that he only worked with Leopold?
- Your work is damaging the encyclopedia. Please stop, unless you are going to be much more careful in all of your edits. Although Wikipedia is the encyclopedia which "Anyone can edit", it is also a fact that Competence is required: edits which change articles from true to false are not helpful. PamD 07:54, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Ok, I am very sorry. I read better the lines now.
- I understood better how works the encyclopedic tone to use and I improved this draft Davide Lo Surdo. Could you kindly give your opinion and tell me how improve it?
- Thanks and god blessings Johnmarrys (talk) 09:04, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm not PamD, but I have had a look at your draft. Generally I would recommend spending more time making minor edits or adding content to other articles (with references) before creating a new article, as the latter is a very difficult task. Having said that,
- Have you checked that this person meets wikipedia guidelines for notability of musicians?
- Your English is not always correct. The sentence "His first tour in India happened in January 2020 where Davide visited cities Guwahati, Kharagpur and Kolkata and in Brazil, Lo Surdo was one of the attractions of the 10th edition of Rolling Stone Music & Run at Sambódromo do Anhembi in São Paulo" is not grammatical. Nor is "He performed concerts in different country around the world as Brazil, India and United States of America". "italians" should be capitalised.
- As PamD told you, dates should not be wikilinked.
- You call the subject of the article inconsistently by his first name and surname. It should usually be his surname.
- "Sharing the stage" with other artists is not relevant for this article.
- The reference to the article by Anna Acosta gives her surname as "on".
- The Acosta article mentions the subject in passing and is not significant coverage.
- There is no reference for the person's date of birth.
- Because you have included the date of birth, which may not be publically available information, I wonder whether you are, or know, the subject of the article. That would be a conflict of interest and you should not create an autobiography on Wikipedia.
- I hope this is helpful, but I do urge you to put off trying to create a new article until you are more experienced. You might want to complete the WP:Wikipedia Adventure or to read the answers at the WP:TEAHOUSE. Tacyarg (talk) 13:40, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, I added the link where I found his date of birth (his official website) and i also fixed the errors you kindly told me.
- Could you tell me if now it's ok the draft?
- Thank you and god bless you Johnmarrys (talk) 14:19, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, on a quick look you have added a promotional source (Victory Amps) and a reference which does not mention the subject of the article (takelessons.com). Are you sure that this musician is notable? Have you looked at WP:NMUSIC? Tacyarg (talk) 16:18, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello I putted takelessons.com that shows the correct fingering position on the guitar. It's an article that explains how to learn the correct position. Should I remove it? Johnmarrys (talk) 16:20, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- He is notable because he is considered the fastest guitarist in history for his speed record and I added of course the rolling stone link which says it.
- I removed the link next to "the correct fingering position" and the link source of the phrase is after the word "metronome"...the Rolling Stone Brasil link.
- The Victory amps link is ok for show that he is an artist for that company? I found it online
- It's ok now the draft? Johnmarrys (talk) 16:28, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- No, the draft still has a lot of problems:
- Dates of references must not be in all-numeric form; access-dates may be (but personally I think it's better not).
- The first "Rolling Stone" ref had a publication date before you started editing the article but has lost it now
- I don't speak Portuguese, but "Google translate" tells me that "Redação" means "essay". It doesn't look like a useful author name for any articles. Leave them as anonymous if you cannot find an author.
- When you use a reference twice (eg 1 and 4, at present), please name the reference and re-use it
- "A tour of India was undertaken by Lo Surdo in January 2020," is very ugly (yes, I think that was introduced by another editor). Much better to say "Lo Surdo toured India in January 2020,". Avoid the passive tense where unnecessary.
- Date formats need to be consistent: "24 July 1999" or "July 24, 1999", but never "24th". See WP:MOSNUM for more about dates.
- Never use "currently". "In 2021 Rolling Stonenamed him ..." is the way to go (the source in 2021: by now they may know about a different, faster, picker.)
- So altogether this draft needs a lot more careful work. PamD 08:05, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello PamD.
- Thank you very much for your help, I am very grateful to you.
- I just fixed the problems you kindly wrote me hours ago, could you tell me if now the draft is ready?
- Once again, thank you very much and God bless you. Johnmarrys (talk) 10:32, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- No, the draft still has a lot of problems:
- Hi, on a quick look you have added a promotional source (Victory Amps) and a reference which does not mention the subject of the article (takelessons.com). Are you sure that this musician is notable? Have you looked at WP:NMUSIC? Tacyarg (talk) 16:18, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm not PamD, but I have had a look at your draft. Generally I would recommend spending more time making minor edits or adding content to other articles (with references) before creating a new article, as the latter is a very difficult task. Having said that,
- I've done a whole lot more tidying up on this draft, but it should now wait for an independent AfC volunteer to look at it. The editor who started the draft and worked on it for 2 days seems to have made no further edits to it or any other article, which suggests that they might have a Conflict of Interest - or might just be an enthusiast. I would suggest you leave it for now, but learn from the various comments made by me and Tacyarg, and take much more care over any future editing you do. Thanks. PamD 14:22, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much PamD for helping me out improving this draft. You are a really kind person and I am really grateful to you.
- I saw your changes on the draft and now it's really well done. I will not edit it anymore because you helped me to do an excellent work.
- Thank you so much again and God bless you. Johnmarrys (talk) 20:28, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

editThere is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. The thread is Davide Lo Surdo, etc.. Thank you. Graham87 07:06, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, there is no Conflict of interest. The reason why I am editing the article is because, not being a professional editor, I start with new articles for learn better how Wikipedia works. Thanks and good luck. Johnmarrys (talk) 07:57, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- That is the most nonsensical explanation I have ever heard. For a start, we don't have professional editors here, in the sense that undisclosed paid editing is strongly against policy. How did you find out about this person? Describe any connections you have to him or people close to him. Graham87 08:37, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- I follow guitar and music. I found out Lo Surdo on a famous video he did with Steve Terreberry (Video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KuRykQPWRw) and i saw he was not on Wikipedia so I decided to contribute on it Johnmarrys (talk) 08:43, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- Graham as you can see in page history, my first edit on the page was on October 23rd 2022, exactly when I saw the video online and searching on wikipedia I saw he was not present on it and found out the draft made by Albarita Alessandrini so I decided to contribute. That's why brother. I truly don't have any conflict and since you are so high level on Wikipedia I would love to learn from you for maybe one day reach your level of knowledge. Johnmarrys (talk) 09:02, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- OK. Writing an article from scratch (or almost so ... or working on a draft) is one of the most difficult tasks on Wikipedia, as Tacyarg was saying up above. Also pinging PamD. For more help, ask at the teahouse. Graham87 10:07, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for saying it to me my brother. I will check It out today. On the article Davide Lo Surdo before i added the video with Steve Terreberry with which i discovered him online time ago and added some informations about the book found online for help you to have more links. I hope i did right.
- In my humble opinion, the article that we have improved (I tried my best) is notable and better now to be on Wikipedia. I tried my best and i hope a very experienced person like you, can appreciate it. Johnmarrys (talk) 11:03, 6 July 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Matteo Mancuso
editI have declined your speedy deletion of Matteo Mancuso. Lack of notability is not a valid criterion for speedy deletion. If you feel the subject is not notable, you an nominate it for deletion at Articles for Deletion. -- Whpq (talk) 02:48, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
