Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Yuri Dmitrievich Petukhov, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Falsification (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your edits to "Russian grammar"

edit

Здравствуйте! I have been making edits to a number of your edits, but I am basically only trying to reword for clarity. I do not know what the answer is (since I am a Russian total beginner), so when I have to work out what something means, I hope to be able to write it better. (I found "possessive genitives" confusing, because I wondered if it was a technical term, for example) If you think I have changed the meaning or got something wrong, please say. For a person who claims to have "level 1" English, you seem to be doing an extremely good job! Thanks.

One question: You wrote "In bylinas one can find all other forms and roles of short adjectives..." -- and I do not understand what you mean by "forms and roles"? Do you mean that the short adjectives decline just like the long ones? (This is all still rather mysterious to me!)

  • Hello! Sorry, my English is really could be better. Yes, I mean that in bylinas you can read lines like "У ласкова князя у Владимира" ('at kind prince Vladimir'), "Стопили ему парну баенку" '(They) heated for him a pretty steamy bain' ([1]). I thought that "possessive genitives" means "noun phrases in genitive case which denotes possession", please correct me if this is not understandable. Wikilinking

edit

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

This is true also for infoboxes.

Thanks and my best wishes.

Speedy deletion declined: Цари́ца

Hello Ignatus. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Цари́ца, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not a recently created redirect - consider WP:RfD. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 12:05, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
