Restoring old revision of PD-files

edit

While the former can be exported into Commons, the latter cannot due to being a foreign work whose French copyright still applies. --Mayimbú (talk) 19:34, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I feel like I'm missing some context, I haven't touched either of those. Did you want me to start a request at WP:RFU so we can get the previous revisions undeleted? hinnk (talk) 21:40, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you can, i thank you in advance. --Mayimbú (talk) 06:35, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
A last minute addition is this photo montage from Die Nibelungen, which can be remade with HQ screencaps from the film (scene at 2h 14m).--Mayimbú (talk) 06:48, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
File:The Graduate Charles Webb.jpg has been transferred to Commons now, although the original version turned out to be a photo of the book instead of the 2D cover, so that probably can't stay. The higher-resolution version of File:PassionofJoanofArc.jpg has been undeleted, and I've asked for the original version of File:Nibelungen film2.jpg to be undeleted too. If you run into more of these, you can just add a request to Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion and indicate that the work is in the public domain (or I'm happy to help with that, of course). hinnk (talk) 22:42, 9 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Targeting my contributions

edit

It looks like we’ve moved from “I disagree” to “my browser says you’re using AI, so I’m out.” If your best argument is hiding behind an AI detection tool, then it’s pretty clear you’re out of actual points to make.

Bottom line: the images I uploaded are perfectly valid and accurately depict the characters. You’re just trying to replace them with your own, free or not. If you really want to defend your edits, stop whining about AI and actually address the content. Or maybe the plugin is just your way of running from a discussion you know you can’t win? LJF2019 talk 06:39, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm sure that the reviewing admin will be able to shine some light on how the non-free content criteria policy does or doesn't apply to the images. If you're going to "leave it to the reviewing administrators to assess the justifications", then please do that.
I don't think it would be productive to have an argument with you on my talk page (or yours), so if there's anything more you'd like to say about the images or my conduct, the files' talk pages and the relevant noticeboards are at your disposal. hinnk (talk) 06:56, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Eniaios

edit

On 13 October 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Eniaios, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the ongoing premiere of Gregory Markopoulos's Eniaios started 20 years ago? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Eniaios. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Eniaios), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
