Walter Industries

edit

Hi - I noticed in 2006 you deleted an article about Walter Industries. I wanted to see if there was real content there or if it was just a worthless stub. From a historical perspective, it is actually an interesting / notable company and thought if there was something there worth working with I would try to rehab it in my personal space first. If you can add it as a subpage (i.e., User:Urbanrenewal/Walter Industries that would be appreciated. |► ϋrбanяeneωaℓTALK ◄| 00:13, 21 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi. I checked over the deletion log for that article, and it was never more than one sentence long. So if you want to create a new article in your personal space you'd have to start from scratch, as there isn't anything worth restoring. Fair use rationale for File:Judas Priest Sin After Sin Photo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Judas Priest Sin After Sin Photo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 14:17, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:KISSology bonus disc MSG.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:KISSology bonus disc MSG.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Error in Red Rodney Wiki Entry ? July 12, 2009

edit

First, I apologize for not understanding all the lingo and rules on Wiki regarding commenting on articles, etc.

Anyway, I was using Wiki as a source of information for a late jazz musician, Red Rodney. The Wiki page for him shows that his original name was Robert Roland Chudnick. However, other sources (eg., allaboutjazz.com, jazz.com, etc.) say that his middle name was Rodney, not Roland. I posted a comment about this on the discussion page for the Red Rodney entry, but, saw that you are involved with a Wiki jazz project and thought I would comment here as well.

I'm with the Bakersfield Jazz Workshop. We mail out a weekly newsletter to our fans and include a trivia contest in each newsletter. Red Rodney's real middle name was one of the questions and a dispute has now arisen over what it was. Hope you can help. Thanks.

File source problem with File:Ameche TD Colts.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Ameche TD Colts.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:32, 25 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Pais (talk) 08:32, 25 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of primates of the Orthodox Church in America. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Louis Armstrong's singer Jewel Brown

edit

Wikipedia does still not have an article about Louis Armstrong's singer from 1961 to 1968, Jewel Brown (http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/musician.php?id=12376). She is a fantastic singer, one of the best, and should have top priority, I think! Some inspiration, "My Man" Paris 1965: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzlrzV5cBs8&NR=1

Hello Cholmes75! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 6 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Anacapamap.gif

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Anacapamap.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:57, 1 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Venture bros logo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Venture bros logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Attack of the Phantoms.JPG

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Attack of the Phantoms.JPG.

Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:41, 4 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Dangermouse cast.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Dangermouse cast.jpg.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 12:15, 13 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
