Replaceable fair use File:Zztop_wembley.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Zztop_wembley.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 12:12, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
I have removed your proposal to delete the article, and I have reverted your changes to Stevie Ray Vaughan, where you reinserted a long list of unverified and not necessarily correct material. I have spent a lot of time adding references to the article, for a good reason: it is a notable topic (it has been at AfD before, when it was in a much worse state). I don't necessarily disagree with your having changed the name (it's neither better nor worse than the previous one), but on that topic, as with your PROD, I suggest that in the future you don't simply go ahead and make such changes without consulting some of the major contributors: a simply click on "history" would have revealed that substantial edits have taken place in the recent past. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 05:04, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
May 2010
editThank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 05:05, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- Again I ask you to provide edit summaries, and to communicate with editors. I see that not many of your edits are in talk space, which is where you want to take up matters such as deletion, merging, etc. In regards to a recent edit of yours on Stevie Ray Vaughan, I urge you to have a look at WP:LEAD: that he's got some signature guitars is important, but removing Grammy information and other accolades is not the way to go. If you want to expand the lead, that would be fine--but most editors here will raise their eye brows if relevant and sourced information is removed. All the best, Drmies (talk) 15:54, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your contributions, and thanks for giving edit summaries: if you look at the article history now, you'll see it's much more convenient and accessible. However, I have to tell you that this website does not count as a reliable source per our standards, and if you really want to improve the article you should replace that link wherever possible with reliable sources. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 15:11, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:SRV Blackbird.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:SRV Blackbird.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:20, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
File:Zztop storytellers.jpg listed for deletion
editA file that you uploaded or altered, File:Zztop storytellers.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. File source problem with File:Movingsidewalks.gif
editThank you for uploading File:Movingsidewalks.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:45, 9 June 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 04:45, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Billygibbons1976.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Billygibbons1976.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 04:45, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Nomination of Death of Stevie Ray Vaughan for deletion
editThe article Death of Stevie Ray Vaughan is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Death of Stevie Ray Vaughan until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Drmies (talk) 05:04, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- Why you'd think this would pass WP:RS is not clear to me. Drmies (talk) 02:48, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- I really think you have no idea. In this edit you removed more well-verified content and their references, and in a later edit you replaced them with a link to this website. Do you work for Martinez? But your hack job was incomplete--you removed the Gregory book from the list, but left a few references to "Gregory." That won't do. I am reverting to an earlier version. Feel free to edit the article in a responsible manner: stop removing verified content, stop removing reliable sources, stop adding commercial and personal websites instead of reliable sources.
And I see now what puzzled me so much: that stuff about the amplifiers--where I had written a little section with reference to the source I just mentioned. In this edit, you removed the reference, thus making it seem as if it were unreferenced, and then later you replaced it with your shopping list sourced to a personal website. That diff I just gave is wholly unacceptable, and I would urge you not to make such grand changes again. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 03:04, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- Another faux pas in this edit. A small sampling--there is no need (and no justification) to change the existing format of the references. You got the dial wrong--only the volume was on 6. You removed the Leslie, which is in the source (and the Vibratone is not). Finally, the Guitar Player article on which much of the In Step amplifier stuff is based states very clearly that the 32 amps were hauled off to New York City, not to Memphis. With the edit to that Dumble cabinet, which you want to turn into a bottom, you break up the quote, introducing a punctuation error, for no purpose at all. The quote is good enough; leave it be. Finally, I don't see why you're so dead set on removing the line about him having kicked his addiction; according to Diaz, who is cited in the article, they are related: "Later on, after he quit doing drugs, he became manic about his equipment."
But I've been explaining this and other things time and again, and I'm getting tired of spending hours undoing the damage. If you wish to correct what you think is incorrect to various guitars, that's fine. But don't go around removing sourced information and incorrectly changing sourced information, certainly not in such major edits--the good you do will be reverted because, on the balance, the edit is not productive. I would also suggest that you start talking. You have made 12 edits to talk pages, and given the issues which I have pointed out to you a few times already, that's really not enough. You ought to talk, or consensus will be impossible. Drmies (talk) 19:34, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- I see you chose to remain incommunicado. Fine--it saves me the trouble, next time an unacceptable edit occurs, from having to explain, in lengthy edit summaries or on your talk page, what the problems were. Drmies (talk) 20:45, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
You started an AfD on this article; I agree that it is redundant. The AfD template was removed because not all the necessary steps were taken.
Before (again) going to AfD, a merge is an option (see WP:MERGE)--and such a merge would be the likely outcome of an AfD discussion anyway. I am going to be bold and merge it. It is possible that editors will object; in that case, a discussion on the merger may take place, probably on the talk page of Stevie Ray Vaughan's musical instruments. I don't foresee great difficulties: the article is very poorly referenced and redundant to the bigger one. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 21:55, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification
editHi. When you recently edited Stevie Ray Vaughan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Crossfire (song) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Peer review limits changed
editThis is a notice to all users who currently have at least one open peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review. Because of the large number of peer review requests and relatively low number of reviewers, the backlog of PRs has been at 20 or more almost continually for several months. The backlog is for PR requests which have gone at least four days without comments, and some of these have gone two weeks or longer waiting for a review.
While we have been able to eventually review all PRs that remain on the backlog, something had to change. As a result of the discussion here, the consensus was that all users are now limited to one (1) open peer review request.
If you already have more than one open PR, that is OK in this transition period, but you cannot open any more until all your active PR requests have been closed. If you would like someone to close a PR for you, please ask at Wikipedia talk:Peer review. If you want to help with the backlog, please review an article whoe PR request is listed at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog/items. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:42, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers Tour
editThe article Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers Tour has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable concert tour fails both WP:GNG and WP:CONCERT TOUR that has been been unreferenced since it was created seven years ago and tagged as such for over a year.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Aspects (talk) 23:52, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
