editHello, I'm Binksternet. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Hardcore punk, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - See this. You were right. I was gong to ask you to help me with a few things but decided you were right and I never even replied.50.234.3.132 (talk) 07:09, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

Please see WP:REDLINK.
This page in a nutshell: Red links for subjects that should have articles but do not, are not only acceptable, but needed in the articles. They serve as a clear indication of which articles are in need of creation, and encourage it. Do not remove red links unless you are certain that Wikipedia should not have an article on that subject.
Cheers, UW Dawgs (talk) 05:10, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
This is the premise they were removed what do you think. "if it links to a term that could plausibly sustain an article" looking them over it seems as though no one will ever make an article for the red links. So I removed them to make the page look more pro. Can you weigh in on this please. Is it ok to remove red links when it seems the red link will never turn in to an article. Thats what I got out of it, previously to now. Cheers, 50.234.3.132 (talk) 05:44, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

editDo not use multiple IP addresses to vandalize Wikipedia, like you did at Metalcore. Such attempts to avoid detection or circumvent the blocking policy will not succeed. You are welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia but your recent edits have been reverted or removed. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Block evasion by User:CombatMarshmallow. Binksternet (talk) 06:50, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Binksternet (talk) 08:11, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- I would like to get involved at the discussion but the page is not allowing me to participate. Which I can do in some hours from now. I would have to thoroughly read and reply. I would like a review of all my edits. None are Point Of View. I was putting it lightly as far as blunt truth would be. Chances of all the red links removed and having enough sources for an article is about a 100 percent that they never will. Ive read edit histories for about two years. Everything at Metalcore and other pages is stuff other editors missed. Please read all of the before and after of my contributions. I hadn't even finished at crossover thrash. If you see the edits Ive done its all pretty obvious to why I made them. for example read -d-beat before and after, new red archives before and after, metalcore before and after I seriously don't think anyone would have picked up on those polish-ups or they would have been done already. I have to also decide of I feel hurt that my work has been undone and that being accused of something has caused all those pages to be less truthful. The talk page of metalcore and what is said about mathcore and other genres is pretty obvious to me. Even the stuff about the root word. I enjoy writing and decided I wanted to share my talents here. I really wasn't planning on making a page and possibly only editing for a few months. I made everything I added to, more accurate and studied them for so long. Now they are all gone. Feel free to have some one else add them if I decide to not go any further. Ill be back on the web later when I have time available, to see how things go. I also felt i only had just begun I basically should do that great work and building the wiki on most articles that needed it. Especially with accuracy, vocabulary and condensing sentences in a way where its more likely people will learn and remember after reading an article. My feelings are hurt. I walked away from it all and just wanted to see if i had anymore messages. Things were done without me. In the meantime please read the before and after I donated my skill set and time. Thank You. 13:54, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

- You have been promoting yourself and your band Hogan's Heroes since 2007 with edits like this and this and this and especially this, the edits connecting New Jersey IP Special:Contributions/68.196.173.32 and your registered account User:CombatMarshmallow. You have consistently tried to show your band Hogan's Heroes to be more important than they really are. For instance, at the New Red Archives article, you recently changed the text to say that Hogan's Heroes is a "metallic hardcore pioneer"[1] which is not confirmed by any third party source. Earlier, you pushed the same promotion in August 2014 in that article with this edit. So examining your "before and after" edits reveals puffery and promotion, not doing "great work and building the wiki" as you claim. Whatever neutral edits you make serve as camouflage for your non-neutral viewpoint. Binksternet (talk) 15:27, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- All the edits are accurate, not biased and are neutral. As far as the metallic hardcore edit Kent McClard writer from MaximumRockNRoll stated in his interview with their bassist in 1988 “Hogan’s Heroes is a four piece that plays a speedy type of clean metallic guitar orientated hardcore, Their approach is unique and up-beat. Attitude wise, they are right on. Built To Last is more than an acetylene burst of energy. It is a positive affirmation of the alternative hardcore scene” - Kent". - A second reference source from 1988 this review of Built To Last by MaximumRockNRoll writer Kent McClard which states "Hailing from New Jersey, Hogan’s Heroes play scathing hardcore with extremely metallic guitar riffing, quality bass work, a splattering of machine-gun drumming. and sharp singing. Normally i would cringe at the metal guitar, but it is done so well with such crisp clarity that I can’t object. in fact, it turns out to be very explosive sounding. At times they remind me of a metallic version of old Justice league on speed. Hot! (7$ to Underground Trust Organization: PO Box 6090: Lawrenceville: NJ 08648) - Kent." 50.234.3.132 (talk) 04:04, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- You are misinterpreting McClard's use of the word "metallic." You're thinking he means metalcore, but if McClard had wanted to write metalcore he would have done so. Instead he writes that the music is hardcore [punk] with some metal-style guitar out front. This is just one of many instances where you get the sources wrong. If you had been putting accurate and neutral stuff into the encyclopedia you would not have been blocked. Your recent attempt to rewrite the metalcore article shows the wisdom of keeping you blocked. Binksternet (talk) 05:06, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

- Two sources that don't support your claim. What the hell is "metallic hardcore"? There's hardcore punk and there's metalcore. McClard says the band is hardcore. He doesn't say the band is metalcore. Instead, he says they are hardcore with metal elements, especially metal-style guitar. But he says they are hardcore, so that's the foundation. He never says they are metalcore. Binksternet (talk) 00:46, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

- You get a point here. Looks like Revolver magazine made a lot of noise about the "metallic hardcore" genre, in talking about bands such as Burnt by the Sun, Mizery, Converge, Sylar, Rise and Fall, Cave In, Bloodsimple and Ringworm. Revolver never wrote about Hogan's Heroes, so that says something about the band's importance to the genre. Binksternet (talk) 00:01, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

- It doesn't matter what revolver says. It takes many reliable sources. Revolver doesn't provide anymore reliable sources than any other reliable sources. Actually less reliable. All reliable sources prior to wikipedia existing are pure and never there to manipulate importance (for usage at wikipedia). The first band of anything is Important. thats not decided by you or me Its just the way it is Those sources are from 1988. when your edit summary says this "Binksternet (talk)(Russian article is based on an older, less well-referenced version of this English article. Reducing importance of Hogan's Heroes, who are not discussed as much alongside other early and influential bands)" When you say "are not discussed alongside much alongside other early bands" and you remove this sentence and references "Hogan's Heroes[21] are the earliest metallic hardcore group and were formed in 1984." Is that helping to build an accurate timeline from precursors to metallic hardcore to metalcore, or does it not meet your POV view? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Metalcore&diff=next&oldid=785334595 50.234.3.132 (talk) 06:52, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
- This is your reaction to a person who comes to New Jersey stays in a hotel Suite decided to use extra time to share knowledge and when they decide to give you the references they knew existed for over 20 years you erase references, a picture, a lead guitar credit, a movie trailer, add a movie trailer name with half the movie title, erase a mention of a single, and still fixated on this band https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions/Binksternet&offset=&limit=500&target=Binksternet because i provided references and just went from page to page making things accurate. Thats the reaction from you to someone who made a ton of great unbiased and accurate edits. Im willing to go edit by edit but it will be with an administrator who is interested in making these pages better. The whole d-beat pageis worded like discharge was the first when in the article it actually names three groups who are the real pioneers. Apparently. - "D-beat (also known as discore or kängpunk) is a style of hardcore punk. The earliest groups associated with D beat are Motörhead, Diamond Head and the Buzzcocks. This subgenre is defined by its characteristic drum beat. In the early 1980s it was developed by bands who took influence from Discharge, after whom the drumbeat and subsequent genre is named. D-beat is closely associated with crust punk, which is a heavier, more complex variation. The style was particularly popular in Sweden, and developed there by groups such as Crude SS, Anti Cimex, Mob 47 and Driller Killer. Other D-beat groups include Doom and the Varukers from the UK; Disclose from Japan; Crucifix and Final Conflict from the U.S.; Ratos de Porão, from Brazil; and MG15, from Spain. While the style initially developed in the early 1980s, a number of new groups working within the subgenre emerged in the mid-1990s. These include the Swedish groups Wolfbrigade, Totalitär, Avskum, Skitsystem and Disfear.

- Origins
- One of the earliest examples of D-beat can be found in the Buzzcocks' song "You Tear Me Up," on their 1978 debut LP, Another Music In A Different Kitchen. It featured a fast, intense drumbeat which Discharge emulated with distinctive D-beat starting 1979 before changing their line-up and beginning a new style indebted to heavy metal. Terry "Tez" Roberts who developed it commented in 2004 that "I just wanna be remembered for coming up with that f-ckin' D-beat in the first place! And inspiring all those f-ckin' great Discore bands around the world!" Discharge's inspiration for the style has led it to be referred to as "discore". Roberts' beat is similar to the basic percussive backbone of songs by Motörhead. Many subsequent groups borrow from the group Motorhead a great deal as well as from the classic Discharge sound that has inspired other groups to emulate them; The Varukers, also from England, were the first of these.

- Discharge
- One of the earliest example of D-beat can be found in the Buzzcocks' song "You Tear Me Up," on their debut LP, Another Music In A Different Kitchen. It featured a fast, intense drumbeat which Discharge would later emulate in the distinctive drumbeat of D-beat. Discharge formed in 1977 in Stoke-on-Trent, England, initially playing a basic variety of street punk inspired by the Sex Pistols and The Clash. In 1979, the group changed its line-up and began a new style indebted to heavy metal. At this time Terry "Tez" Roberts developed their characteristic drum beat, for which the D-beat subgenre is named. Roberts commented in 2004 that "I just wanna be remembered for coming up with that f-ckin' D-beat in the first place! And inspiring all those f-ckin' great Discore bands around the world!" (2004). Discharge's inspiration for the style has led it to be referred to as "discore". Roberts' beat is similar to the basic percussive backbone of songs by Motörhead, and many subsequent groups borrow from this group a great deal as well as Discharge. After 1982, the group changed its style to a more conventional form of heavy metal. However, their classic sound inspired other groups to emulate them; The Varukers, also from England, were the first of these.

- "The name "D-beat" refers to a specific drumbeat. The earliest practitioners are punk and heavy metal musicians such as Buzzcocks and Diamond Head. It is also associated with bands and musicians such as The Varukers, Brian Roe (Brains), Discharge, Garry Malloney & Tez Roberts, Discharge's first drummer, The term was coined by Rich Militia, the singer of Sore Throat, in 1988, to describe the drum pattern played by Dave "Bambi" Ellesmere on Discharge's EP Why?.

- The "why" is because you are evading your block as User:CombatMarshmallow. You were blocked but you fired up an IP address to start editing anyway. Per WP:EVADE, "Anyone is free to revert any edits made in violation of a block, without giving any further reason and without regard to the three-revert rule. This does not mean that edits must be reverted just because they were made by a blocked editor (obviously helpful changes, such as fixing typos or undoing vandalism, can be allowed to stand), but the presumption in ambiguous cases should be to revert." If you have been changing text to fit your viewpoint then I will revert it. Simple as that. Binksternet (talk) 14:20, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
- All that you unbuilt I didnt add any of it. You constantly change your viewpoint as a strategy, not accuracy. Binksternet (talk) states: This is just one of many instances where you get the sources wrong. Your edit history https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions/Binksternet&offset=&limit=4000&target=Binksternet shows you have removed edits I never added. I supplied the sources that show your "puffery" claim was completely false, those sources you claimed didnt exist. Then eventually claimed there wasn't anything called metallic hardcore "just metalcore and hardcore", also claimed the sources didnt say what they actually say. I have always been constructive and neutral. I have supplied accurate and reliable sources. It is looking like WP:OWNERSHIP, at Metalcore and on behalf of converge for example "mathcore" does not have a direct relationship to metalcore just the band Converge, mathcore its back on the metalcore page. Things that are a step or many steps removed from an article need serious careful scrutiny which has more than been applied. I also read we never put photos of bands in an info box, of course the photo, is the band Converge. Currently more Converge POV is back in the Ideologies section at Metalcore It states, "Some metalcore groups, such as Converge have lyrically focused on personal anguish and experiences of failed romantic love". Neither "failed romantic love" or "anguish" are an ideology and yet have been readded. Seems part of a serious agenda. It doesn't have anything to do with me. It seems to have to do with the bands and articles pertaining to mostly boost Converge, to boost Discharge, to discredit hogans heroes, to boost d-beat and to own metalcore, and at minimum. I haven't edited anything to any view point except what sources say. Thank You. 50.234.3.132 (talk) 17:06, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
- You know all that about converge and discharge as you hid all the talk page sections and labeled them as someone I am not

editWe can talk about your sources and my reversion of your work all day long, but the main point of all this is that you were indefinitely blocked by Berean Hunter in October 2015 for combativeness and promoting your band Hogan's Heroes. The archived discussion can be seen here. Everything you do after that is subject to reversion per WP:EVADE. Your only recourse at Wikipedia is to ask for your block to be lifted, perhaps by way of Standard Offer, which will only work if you don't touch Wikipedia for six months. Until you get your block formally lifted you will continue to be reverted at Wikipedia. Binksternet (talk) 16:44, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
- The main point of all this is that I was not indefinitely blocked by Berean Hunter in any year. You don't like my edits and decided not to use the talk page. Thank you 50.234.3.132 (talk) 18:29, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, you were.
