Welcome!
editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.
Here are some links to pages you may find useful:
- Contributing to Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- Simplified Manual of Style
You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a minimum number of days and made a minimum number of edits.
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (2600:1700:D2A1:570:0:0:0:3B) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).
Happy editing! Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:40, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Ghmyrtle. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, A Child's Christmas in Wales, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Ghmyrtle (talk) 22:04, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at Waiting for Godot, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 06:38, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Your recent editing history at Waiting for Godot shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. How to cite sources
editPlease read Help:Referencing for beginners, which will help you with creating references. Trying to do it manually leads to lots of problems. Also, IMDB is not considered reliable; please see WP:RS. Thanks, The Mirror Cracked (talk) 06:44, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- I politely asked you to read and follow our instructions on how to cite sources. You have ignored that advise and have continued to edit war to put mis-formatted references into multiple articles. You are on the verge of being blocked from editing. I stongly urge you to stop and learn how to properly reference material. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 15:48, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
- Quite so. We are trying to help you learn. Look at what I did in this edit - I re-formatted your edit so that it goes some way to complying with the way citations should be made. It's not my job to sort out your messes - if you really want to edit here, it's your responsibility to work out how to do it yourself. If not, you will be blocked. editYou may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia. IdreamofJeanie (talk) 15:30, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Ghmyrtle (talk) 17:15, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

. Ad Orientem (talk) 17:17, 29 January 2020 (UTC)- If this is a shared IP address and you are an uninvolved editor with a registered account, you may continue to edit by logging in.

editThis person (who may well be yourself - if so, you are in conflict with conflict of interest guidance) may perhaps be sufficiently notable to have their own article here. Probably not, but it's possible. At the moment, they do not have an article here. Which is another very good reason why mentions of this person's appearances should not be included in this encyclopedia - whether or not you learn, in time, how to edit here correctly. I suggest you learn how to edit here, and stop edit warring before you are (as seems to be the inevitable outcome) blocked from editing. Thanks. Ghmyrtle (talk) 17:20, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
