This program is a script, not a bot, which does not do any editing. I am applying for bot approval because access to the apihighlimits flag would make my program work better without making additional queries. User:Chris_G was kind enough to block this account from editing so that it's entirely clear I only intend to read from the API. Following the steps on WP:BRFA,
- 1. All I got trying to do this validation step was another login page.
- 2. My script reads interwiki and category links via the API and presents them to a user graphically with the graphviz layout engine and the ICU language tools. It's a word browser for armchair etymologists like myself.
- 3. API queries are only ever made when a user requests a term be looked up.
- 4. This project is open-ended; I may continue developing it, or it may stay a demo.
- 5. I, author and maintainer, am Aaron Brick, User:Aaronbrick.
- 6. done.
