Canada's Drag Race

edit

In her first episode of Canada's Drag Race, she revealed that Velvet, the only LGBTQ bar in St. John's, paid drag performers just $37.50 per show.[3] This quickly set off a controversy when the bar immediately cancelled its weekly Canada's Drag Race viewing parties after the episode was broadcast,[4] with the bar pledging within days to make changes to ensure improved compensation for performers.[3]
