Are we certain "V-Ray" is the canonical spelling? Within the app itself, I have seen "V-Ray", "V-ray", "VRay", and "Vray", though some of these may be imprecisions introduced by authors of plug-in tools. Personally I would lean toward "V-ray", on the general English-language principle of not capitalizing after a hyphen unless what follows the hyphen is itself a proper name (as in "post-Roman"), and per the MOS:CAPS principle to avoid unnecessarily capitalization. I'm not sure what the best way is to assess capitalization of this "in the wild"; not every source nominally reliable for, say, technical facts about V[-][r|R]ay will be competent when it comes to English-language writing, as a tremendous amount of tech material in English is written by non-native speakers of the language, and even the native ones in that field are often crappy writers who are not precise about the spelling of anything other than inside code or on a command line (where they have no choice). — SMcCandlish☏¢ 😼 08:23, 22 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
